“She’s the one,” I tell her and she nods.

“I know. It’s obvious. It’s nice to see you so happy and in love,” my mom tells me. “And don’t worry about Clark or your aunt. I already talked to both of them. He should be out of the apartment tomorrow and they’re both supposed to call you with an apology.”

“Hasn’t happened yet, but I’ve been preoccupied,” I say with a shrug.

“Take care of her. I’ll see you both next weekend,” she says and I hug her goodbye.

“Talk to you later,” I promise and I go to meet Izzy.

I take her hand and we head outside to where Max is parked.

“We should have brought him something to eat,” Izzy comments.

“He goes to visit his own family. They live a few blocks north of here.”

“Oh, that’s nice. I’m glad that it works out.”

We climb into the backseat and I nod at Max.

“Home, sir?”

“Yes.”

I smile as we start to drive off. I’ve got big plans for my baby girl when we get there.

“You could stay home with me,”Davis whispers in my ear and I giggle, squirming in his lap.

“We both have to go to work,” I remind him.

“We can skip it.”

“Not again. You missed most of last week and I actually like my job. I want to go in today,” I tell him and he sighs.

“Fine. I’ll drop you off, but I’m picking you up at four on the dot,” he warns me.

“I can’t wait, daddy,” I whisper against his mouth.

He growls, claiming my lips with his and I melt against him, surrendering control to him. His arms wrap around my waist, and my fingers tangle in his hair, trying to tug him closer to me. He reaches up, cupping my chin and angling my head so that he can deepen the kiss. I moan, loving when he takes control of me.

Davis groans, his hips jerking up against my butt and I grind down against him. His tongue slips inside my mouth, and then I’m the one moaning as I get lost in the taste of him. Just like that, I’m lost in a Davis haze.

I lose track of time and everything else as we kiss. It’s just me and Davis in our own erotic world. I never want to leave.

A car horn blares nearby and I reluctantly pull away from Davis. We’re parked outside of Bees Knees Flower Shop and I climb off of Davis’s lap.

“I’ll see you at four,” he tells me and I nod.

“Thanks for the ride, Max,” I call as I climb out.

“Of course, Mrs. Michaels.”

I pause at his words.

Mrs. Michaels. I like the sound of that.
