Wait. Shorty?

“What?” My eyes go wide when I turn my head back to Ash. “What do you mean, explain it to Shorty?”

“What do you think,” he says in a quiet tone.

Fuck.No.If she walked in with Addy in bed with me, she probably thought we fucked.

“She walked in right before me and left as soon as she saw—” Ash points towards Addy.

Unsteadily on my feet, I made my way over to the window and watch Shorty climb into Tia’s car and drive away from me.

“Fuck!” I roar, trying to keep steady on my feet but fail when I topple to the ground like a ton of bricks.

“God damnit,” Ash mutters, lifting me to my feet. “It doesn’t fucking matter what she saw. Addy shouldn’t have her legs wrapped around yours.”

“I’m sorry, ok? I’m sorry. But nothing happened.” Addy sighs, picks up her clothes and walks out the door.

“Let’s go, bro. You need a shower and Mom’s been worried.”

“I need to see Shorty.”

“No. You need a fucking shower.”

“Get off me, Ash.” I try pushing him off me but no luck. “I need to see her.”

“No. You’re going to get your shit together before you talk to her. Give her some time to process what she saw.”

Ash helps me down the steps and out the door. Once I’m sitting inside of Ash’s car, my head throbs, and my chest aches. I can’t imagine what Shorty walked in on.

“Was she really there?” I ask myself, not realizing right away that Ash is already in the car.

“Does it fucking matter?” He turns on the car.

“Yes.” I grit my teeth.

He sighs. “She came by to check on you after I asked her to come over.”

I glare at him. Motherf—

“Yeah, well, you were self-destructing,again. And besides, she wanted to see you.”

That doesn’t help me at all. Knowing what she saw, how fucked up I was.

I never wanted her to see me that way. And now that she has, she’ll want nothing to do with me.

Chapter 26- Sadie

When I found Donnie in bed with Addy last weekend, I wanted to die right there. Ash explained what happened, and I believe him, but it still doesn’t make it any easier.

My heart broke when I found out how much Donnie was drinking and how off he was with his game. I felt bad because I was supposed to be at his second game, but I couldn’t go because I was afraid to go in public after the whole car chase and bullets flying at us…again. I planned on surprising him that night, but I ended up getting a surprise myself instead.

My messages to Donnie were going unanswered, so I called Ash. He gave me the address of where he was staying and said he would meet me there.

When Tia and I pulled up outside the house that Donnie was supposedly at, Ash was on the side of the road waiting for me.

“You need me to come with and kick some ass?” Tia grins.

“No,” I laugh.
