Club Caramel by Dante West.

Surprise washes over me, but it’s quickly overtaken by a buzz of excitement.Dante West’s new mixed-sex club in Hollywood? This has to be where Kingsley is.I’ve met Dante before at parties with Julius and Vincent.A quick scroll through my contacts confirms it—I do have his number.

Why is Kingsley at Dante’s club?My stomach flutters, and my heart races.Well, there’s only one way to find out.

Sneaking past front security is the hurdle.I rush back to my room, and a plan takes shape as the hot water pours over me in the shower.By the time I’m stepping into my little black dress, pulling on a blonde wig and strapping on my stiletto heels, I’ve got it all figured out.

The one hiccup is involving Lexy. Not ideal, but it’s my only shot. With a deep breath, I pick up my phone and send her a quick text.Time to put this plan into action.

I sneak into the courtyard, where a security guard patrols the front gate, a precaution after what happened to me in Japan. The distant sounds of a honking horn signal Lexy’s arrival. It’s a straightforward plan, and it works.I watch while Carlos, who’s on gate duty, leaves his post and heads toward the sound.Swiftly, I dart out, managing the best I can in heels, and open the gate to the waiting Uber.

I slide into the back seat with my disguise in place.Thankfully, the Uber driver doesn’t recognize me, and I provide him with the address of the club, and he sets off.

It’s at that moment I pull out my phone.I hadn’t actually called Dante before, and I wondered if he would remember who I was.I think he would, but would he answer?Screw it, there’s only one way to find out.

I dial the number, and after a single ring, a deep voice picks up.“Victoria Slater, or is it Viki Slate these days? What a pleasant surprise.”

I’m relieved he remembers me.“Dante.Hi.How are you?”

“All the better now that I’m speaking with you.”Ah, that’s right. The playboy flirt. The memories of our brief encounters linger from those moments before my brothers made it clear that I'm not someone to be trifled with.

“Still the flirt, I see.”I chuckle, aware that his advances are all in good fun.

“Till I die. What can I do for you?”

“I’m moments away from your new club in West Hollywood.”

“Well, I look forward to welcoming you.”

“You’re… here too?”The surprise is evident in my tone.

“Of course, it’s a new club.I can’t leave anything to chance.”

“I see.”

“Does Vincent know you’re attending one of my clubs?”he asks curiously.

“No, and I believe discretion is what you pride yourself on.”

“Hmm…” he mutters but doesn’t elaborate.

“Dante, please.”

“I’ll see you soon.”Then the line goes dead.

I pay the Uber just when the door swings open, and I look up and see Dante himself.Tall, stubble dotting his sharp jaw, and undeniably handsome, the kind who could easily sweep women off their feet.

“Welcome to Club Caramel,” he greets and stretches out his hand, which I take.

He kisses me on the cheeks and guides me through the grand arched doorway and past security.

“I hardly recognized you,” he remarks while he leads me down the dimly lit hallway.

“That’s the point of a disguise,” I reply.

“Have you been to one of my clubs before?”he asks, his gaze assessing my attire.

“No,” I admit, suddenly feeling a bit out of my depth.
