Feel every squeeze when I rock inside her.

I want to love her, every inch of her.

And she needs to know it.

“We’re not having sex, Penny.” I ease up and reach for a condom.

She stops me, then wiggles out of her panties. “I take contraception.”

That’s an invitation, so I watch her eyes as I push in. We both know our sex has shifted to something more meaningful. The arousal fog blurs my thoughts. I thrust into her, overwhelmed with an urge to simply fuck, but I get my shit under control and study her face to guide my movements. I pull out slower, wait, then push inside her again. I lean down and kiss her lips. “I’ve missed you so damn much.”

Her hands are on my ass. “And I you.” She gives me a little smack, and I thrust harder, deeper.

“Is this what you want, Penny?”

She gasps. “Yes.” Her hips rise to meet mine with every thrust.

I’m blinded by lust, slipping into a rhythm, our hips smacking, my balls slapping her ass. I adjust my arms, fall onto my elbows, and come hard, emptying myself and a bucket full of emotions with it after I kiss her shoulders and slump onto the bed beside her.

While we’re warming up to a day of sex, I want to keep my focus on making this about Penny and what we share. I trace a line along the side of her face. “For once, I’m happy to stay in for the entire day.”

PENELOPE

Late Monday morning,I sit in a café across from work and call Jobe. I imagine he is busy and probably in a meeting. I take a quick sip of my coffee and place the mug on the table.

“Well, if it’s not the famous Penelope Gilbert.”Shit, he answered. “Did your weekend go well with my brother?” His playful voice eases my nerves.

“It was fun. Though I think your mom exaggerated his stress levels.”

“She didn’t. It’s that magical power you have on him. His world changes when you’re by his side.” I snort out some sort of noise. “While I might sound cheesy when Franklin and I chat, his voice changes as though he’s equally calmed by you as he is excited. No one affects him the way you do.”

I screw up my face. “I don’t have any magical power over him. So many times, he’s too busy to give me any time, so I know I’m not a priority to him.”

He chuckles. “Penny, babe… you arethe priorityeven if you don’t see it.”

“Thanks,” I murmur because I don’t know what to say. The problem is I don’t feel what he’s just said to me.

“This call isn’t to discuss Franklin’s commitment to you, is it?”

“No.” I take the last bite of my chocolate chip muffin.

“You want to know about the sale of the house? Because I assume you’re in demand after he emphasized your remodeling should be highlighted in the listing.”

“It sold?” I croak.

“On Friday.”

Friday.I was with him the entire weekend, and he never mentioned it. I crumple the serviette in my hand and take a deep breath. “Right. No. My call is about something else. The condo. I want to sell it.”

Silence.

“This is between you and me.” My heart races. I’ve thought about it for weeks andI am doing this.

“If that’s what you want, but the listing will be public.”

“What about private buyers? It will be furnished.”
