“I think you will. Granted, he cares a little too much,” Less says, “andhe doesn’t know the meaning of the wordsnone of your business, but out of all my friends, he’s likely the only one who’s not an asshole.”

“The others are assholes?”

He shrugs. “Like call to like, I guess.”

Since when is he self-depreciative? And…capable of bringing me to a bedroom without removing my panties and having his way with me?

He resolutely remains at a distance, not taking a single step inside.

It’s weird. And awkward and confusing, and absolutely unlike him. I can’t help but point out the elephant in the room. “So youaregoing to let me rest for the next hour, then?” I challenge, lifting my chin.

“Oh, yeah.”

I blink.

What the hell?

“I mean, you’re not the only pretty girl I picked up today. I think the guys and I will have a lot more fun with your sister.”

My jaw falls.

He can’t fucking mean that.

“Pretty sure she’s fucked half of them already, anyway—and Nic tells me I should try her. Apparently, she sucks like a vacuum.”

“Youwouldn’t.”

“I have my brother’s blessing to play with her if I get a little frustrated. We all do. I guess it’s as good a way as any to pass time while the internet’s out.”

I grab the first object to my right—a candelabra with seven unlit red candles on top—and hurl it at him, frustrated when it bounces off the wall, almost a meter away from his smug head.

Though come to think of it, it might have done serious damage, had my aim been better.

“Oh, I do enjoy your temper, poison,” he tells me, turning to leave. “Enjoy your nap.”

“You leave my sister alone,” I scream, stomping after him.

He laughs. “Don’t worry. She won’t mind. I’m sure she already has a cock up at least two holes right now.”

Even if that’s true—and it very well could be, given the conversations we’ve had over the last day—the thought ofhimin a sexual situation with Bella fills me with absolute horror.

Justno.

“What happened to me being yourfavorite toy?” I quote, my tone dripping with sarcasm.

“Oh, you are,” he assures me with a glance over his shoulder, just as we reach the stairway again. “But hey, you’re not on the table. Believe it or not, I actually grew pretty tired of you acting like I’m a monster every time I touched you. So unless you’re offering…”

My stomach drops as I understand, finally.

This is another game. Another thing he’s cornered me into. He’s just grown cleverer with his moves.

I either tell him he can have me, or he’s going to go down to fuck my sister.

My sister.

She’s my favorite person in the world, but there’s zero doubt in my mind that if Less ends up having sex with her, not only would I hate him for it, I’d also resent her. I’d never forget that betrayal. He would sour our relationship forever.

And I’m the one called poison.
