“You really put yourself out there tonight, didn’t you?” Curly hair tickled Mitch’s face as she finally gave in to the heat that had been attempting to flood her body all evening. “How much did you love having everyone’s attention?” Vanessa grabbed the crotch of Mitch’s underwear and snapped it against her slit. The gasp shooting across their bed was otherworldly. “How many of them put their hands on you, huh?”

Mitch didn’t know where her bra soon went. She was so used to being naked now that she preferred that stifling thing to be gone, like her dress. “Not enough,” she admitted.

Vanessa shared what she thought of that with a kiss, the kind that did not start innocently and seldom finished in a timely manner. Mitch was quick to fling her legs around her Mistress’s waist, luring Vanessa’s fully clothed body down for what they both wanted.

Mitch didn’t have to think of baseball anymore.

“You’re my pet,” Vanessa growled into Mitch’s ear as her hand snaked effortlessly between her pet’s legs. Mitch slammed her eyes shut and silently begged Vanessa to take and finish her off right now. It wouldn’t take long at all. “Never forget that. A hundred people could touch you in one night, and you’d still bemine.”

“Yes…” Mitch meant it as she curled her whole body around Vanessa, the only woman to turn her into someone who associated sex and love together. “Yes!” She nearly lost her mind when her Mistress reintroduced her to the two most powerful fingers on one hand.

“Yes, what?”

“Yes, Mistress!”

Vanessa slammed another kiss onto Mitch’s lips. Her tongue plunged into depths that her fingers likewise found. The whole act was so simple, so primal that Mitch forgot almost everything that night that led to this.

“I love you…” Mitch could only let herself sound so unrepentantly feminine in this room, with this woman. Others may see her as the exhibitionist Michelle, but she wasn’t playing that part any longer. She was back to being Mitch, the woman who would take a bullet for the Mistress fucking her with such loving strength.

Vanessa timed her kiss to Mitch’s throat with the hooking of her fingers. Mitch shattered around her, unashamed to admit that it never took her more than a minute when Vanessa got her going. That just means more, more, more.Sometimes, Mitch was pleasured three times over before Vanessa decided she wanted a turn – if she ever did.

“I love you, too.” Vanessa’s soft yet firm voice complemented the way her fingers lingered deep between Mitch’s legs. “That’s why you’re mine. Nobody will ever love you as much as I do. It’s impossible.”

That was the kind of sentiment that made Mitch shudder in preemptive grief. There might come a day when Vanessa was no longer in that world, and Mitch couldn’t bear the thought.I go first.Nowthatwas a sentiment she never expressed out loud. Vanessa would forbid it.

Mitch collected her breath when Vanessa reclaimed her fingers and gently pulled away, her clothes disheveled and her hair trapped in front of her face. “Thank you, Mistress,” Mitch said with an exasperated sigh. “You always take care of me.”

“As our target duly noted earlier tonight…” Vanessa offered her hand to help Mitch sit up. “You were enraptured in foreplay. Come on. Let’s take a shower and discuss anything we learned. I’ll tend to more of your needs later, if necessary. I only wanted to take the edge off so you could concentrate.”

Mitch hopped up. She happened to glance down at her thighs. In the fury of their five-minute lovemaking, Vanessa had smeared the names on Mitch’s thigh. They would wash off in the shower. When Mitch reemerged, she would be shed of her alter-ego for the rest of the night.

A part of her wanted to stay in that space a while longer.

“Everything all right?” Vanessa asked.

“Everything’s perfect.” Mitch leaned against her as they wandered into the bathroom.

Vanessa watched Mitch before taking off her blouse. They had other business to attend to.

Chapter 6

FirstthingMondaymorning,Vanessa and Mitch headed to a neutral office building in the Financial District. Vanessa was familiar with it, having rented conference rooms on its middle floors whenever she wanted to have a face-to-face meeting with a client.Much more efficient than renting my own office.Vanessa was still very much a homebody. She may have been more outgoing in her youth, but a decade of hiding in fear for her own life was hard to move on from, Mitch or no Mitch.

This was not about a work meeting, though. That was a convenient cover should anyone have seen them enter the building while Luke found a place to park. On the thirteenth floor, high enough to avoid most photographers and drones, they met with Det. Moran and Capt. Orchard from the local police department.

They wanted to know what the two women had found out from Candace Lister’s party, not that Vanessa had anything interesting to share.

“I’m not sure what you expected us to find or hear,” Vanessa said with her professional candor that already set these men on edge. “Even if Candace is playing illegal games with the people around her, she’s not about to confess that to us at her first party. We don’t have her trust.”

“We know you’re not going to find much until you get into Club Night,” Moran said. “Has she invited you yet? Told you its location?”

Vanessa shook her head. “No.”

“She likes me, though,” Mitch interjected. “I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re invited.”

Both men looked at Mitch, who had been quiet in her jeans and hoodie. “Excuse me?” Capt. Orchard asked.

“Candace Lister. She likes me. I’m sure she wants to see me in her secret club sometime soon. You think I didn’t offer a taste of all the reasons she’d want me to be in Club Night?”
