“It’s my new favorite lunch spot in the city,” Mitch said.

“How delightful. I’ll see you ladies later.”

Vanessa waited for Candace to collect her coat and leave the brunch spot before saying, “She couldn’t stop undressing you with her eyes.

“To be fair,” Mitch said with a sigh, “she already saw some of the goods. Especially if she’s been to Hellfire.”

“Seeing you in your natural element is different from catching a glimpse of your labia when you bend over in the middle of a nice restaurant.”

“You of all people would be familiar with my labia.”

Now that we’ve both said that word out loud…It was time for them to go. There was nothing else for them to do here.

Three days later, Vanessa received an auspicious phone call.

“Vanessa! Hello, it’s me, Candace Lister. I hope it’s all right that I called you at your private number – wasn’t hard to find once I realized I already had your card. Are you too busy to speak with me right now?”

Vanessa was in the middle of lunch, which she often took in her office. Today was no different. While Mitch usually skipped lunch and worked out instead, Vanessa had the whole second floor of the house to herself. That extended to her private conversations as well.

“That depends,” Vanessa coyly said. “Is this business or pleasure?”

Candace’s laugh was fake enough to sate Vanessa’s senses. “You’ve caught me. I’m calling for pleasure, of course. After we met this weekend, I’ve been thinking about how we should get to know each other. Including your delightful partner as well. Michelle, was it?”

“I seem to recall her extending that privilege to you.”Which she played very well.Mitch was getting too good at this. If Vanessa weren’t careful, she might lose her worldly partner to another woman.Fat chance of that…Or so Vanessa desired to believe.

“How lovely. Vanessa, I don’t have much time to chat, but I wanted you two to know that I’m throwing a soiree at my abode in Presidio Heights this Saturday night. Mostly women only, but you know how it goes – some of our fellow ball-busters throw hissy fits if they can’t bring their latest male pets. But women are definitely inchargeof this party. I’d love it if you and Michelle came and met some of my friends from distant lands. Definitely worth your while.”

“It’s a bit short notice…” Vanessa was only slightly lying when she said that. She and Mitch did have plans for that weekend, but it wasn’t anything she couldn’t move around. “We were also saying how nice it was to meet someone else local. San Francisco’s scene is so… claustrophobic.”

“That’s why we hide in our holes and keep to ourselves, Vanessa. Which I hear you’re already fantastic at.”

“I may have some experience. Anyway, be sure to send the details along and I’ll let you know by Friday night if we can make it.”

“Fantastic! Send Michelle my regards.”

Vanessa hung up without a proper farewell. Almost immediately, she planned her attack.

Chapter 4

Mitchworethekindof outfit that invited a strong breeze to expose her to the whole world.Must be the weekend.Normally, Mitch preferred wearing underwear, but she had noticed something very important about Candace.

She liked Mitch. She was interested in Mitch. If Mitch played her part right, Candace would be eating out of her hand by the end of the night.

Lots of Dommes were like that, Mitch had discovered since pledging her undying, submissive allegiance to Vanessa, the first woman to introduce her to a kind of therapy a doctor’s office could never accomplish. Or, as Vanessa was likely to put it, Mitch instinctively knew how to seduce women like them.I know how to seduce all kinds of people.Sometimes she did it to prove to herself that she could. Vanessa called it “letting the cat out of the bag,” if only because it kept their pet play alive. Because Vanessa knew everything. It wouldn’t be fun if shedidn’tknow, let alone had a hand in whatever Mitch got up to.

Tonight, though, she had to be on her best behavior. Vanessa knew more about sucking up to rich women over the long term, especially when she wanted something from them. Mitch knew how to do one thing… well, at least.

“You two gonna be okay without me?” Luke asked in the front seat of Vanessa’s Town Car. “I won’t be too far whenever you’re ready to leave.”

“We’re good, Dad.” Mitch kicked open her door and almost flashed the maid coming to greet them. “You got a curfew for us, too?”

“Michelle,” Vanessa said with her warning purr that told her partner the scene had already started. “Be nice. Luke does us a great courtesy.” She leaned forward toward the front seat. The last thing Mitch heard before approaching the maid was, “We’ll let you know.”

Luke pulled away from Candace Lister’s Presidio Heights property while Vanessa wrapped her arm around Mitch’s. “Let’s see what all of this fuss is about, huh?”

The maid led them inside, where another maid in uniform popped out of a kitchen with a tray full of wineglasses. Vanessa and Mitch were offered to hang up their coats in the foyer, but only Vanessa had to take the maid up on it. Mitch needed her jacket to remain appropriate for her big reveal later.Because it’s coming.Vanessa had no critiques to give when she saw her partner’s outfit before they left. It was one of Mitch’s club staples, as pretentiously sexy as it was dowdy… as long as she left the jacket on.

Once Vanessa’s coat was in the closet, the maid led them to a hidden stairwell jutting down into a dark basement. During the day, Mitch would have quipped about a serial killer lying in wait. In this case? She expected everything she was about to see.
