“Come here.” Hunter gently tugged my hand and began to lead me away from all the people.

“Where are we going?” I asked.

As he pulled me through the kitchen and into the garage, locking the door and quickly shutting off any security cameras in view, Hunter turned to look at me. His eyes, dark and smoldering, held a promise of passion, and I knew in that instant, I was about to let this happen…

CHAPTER28

Luna

The last time I’d been in this garage was five days ago, right after the prison incident. At the time, I’d been too pissed to notice the details, but this place was pristine. The flooring had some kind of shiny speckled coating that reminded me of marble, and the walls were painted black with blue shelving containing red plastic bins that didn’t look like they had an ounce of dust on them.

It didn’t even smell like a garage normally would. More like a men’s cologne commercial, a musk scent mixed with smoked wood.

Above us, soft lighting illuminated each of Hunter’s cars, as if on display on a showroom floor. He had a Jeep. A truck. Some kind of old vintage thing—a Mustang maybe? And of course, his prized Aston Martin, which was parked two feet from where I now stood.

I hadn’t even had a chance to turn around when, suddenly, Hunter was behind me, pressing his chest against my back, wrapping his hand around my midsection.

My heart raced uncontrollably as the anticipation surged through my veins, finally culminating in the moment I had longed for.

“I can’t stand seeing you in this dress for one more second without touching you.”

His touch, like a whisper, grazed my skin, igniting a wildfire of need that threatened to consume me. His fingertips danced along the curve of my shoulder, making my breath hitch as he traced the outline of my collarbone, so light and delicate, it was almost unbearable.

I closed my eyes, savoring the heat of his body against mine. The warmth of his breath caressed the nape of my neck, and a delicious shudder rippled through me as I drowned in the intoxicating scent of his musk cologne.

“Hunter…”

He let his hands roam over my stomach, down the front of my thighs.

My body reacted in ways I had never experienced before, my hips involuntarily pressing back into him.

Making him let out a wanton sigh.

The world around us faded, leaving only the sound of our ragged breaths, the tension building with a crescendo of passion that threatened to overtake us both. Surrendering to him was dangerous, but the fire that burned within me was too powerful to ignore.

Hunter began kissing my shoulder, and my body came to life, paralyzing me with yearning. For all my talk about friendship and pushing against this pull, I couldn’t stop thinking about what it would feel like to have Hunter touch me the way he was now. To have his hands caress me the way my body craved.

I knew I should push him away. We had agreed to be just friends for a reason, but that reason became a lot harder to remember when his hands slid up my body and grasped my breasts, causing me to arch my back, wishing there wasn’t fabric separating us. I wanted to feel his palm cupping me without any barrier getting in the way.

I couldn’t believe this was happening.

The hottest guy I’d ever laid eyes on—with his dark hair and commanding jawline—had his mouth on my neck, my jaw, and was inciting a riot of disagreement for having ever resisted this.

His fingers breached the top of my dress and slid down over my breast. My chest ached at his touch, and when he squeezed me, I groaned.

Slowly, his tongue trailed from my shoulder to my collarbone, leaving behind a frost when his mouth would abandon me.

I tilted my head to give him better access, my breathing quickening as he slid his hands down my thighs and grabbed fistfuls of my gown’s fabric.

Inching it up slowly.

I could tell him to stop. I could end it right now, but that would mean never knowing the pleasure of Hunter Lockwood sinking himself deep inside me.

His lips brushed my earlobe as he inched the dress up farther before they lightly ghosted a path back down along my neck. “I want you to scream my name when I make you come.”

Oh my word.

I wanted that too. But lacking the experience as proof that I could, I wasn’t sure if that was possible.
