“I do like you, Owen,” she insisted. “I more than like you. I’m not seeing what the problem is.”

“You said that you like Maverick and—” he started.

“And you think that I meant that I like him, like him,” she finished. God, she was an idiot. She wrinkled up his nose and looked up at him. “He’s not really my type,” she admitted.

“Really?” he asked, “you’re not just saying that?”

“No, I’m not just saying that,” she admitted. “The only man that I’m interested in is you, Owen.” She wrapped her arms around him and snuggled in closer.

“Good to know, honey,” he said.

“Although, it was kind of cute seeing you act all jealous,” she teased.

“I was not jealous,” he insisted. He wore an adorable scowl, and she couldn’t help her giggle.

“Okay, well, it was still adorable,” she insisted.

“Fine, but I can’t help it if you find me irresistible,” he said.

“I didn’t say that I found you irresistible. I said that you were adorable,” she reminded. “And if you keep gloating, I’ll find that to be a lot less true.”

“How about if I show you how adorable I can be?” he asked, rolling her body underneath his own.

“Oh, I like the way that you think,” she praised. Tilly wrapped her arms and legs around him, loving the feel of his weight on top of her body.

“Prepare to be amazed,” he teased.

Tilly giggled, “Bring it on, Owen,” she whispered into his ear. Tilly wasn’t sure how she had found the perfect man. Heck, he was actually the one who had found her, but letting down her defenses and giving into what she wanted with Owen was turning out to be the best decision she had ever made.

Owen

Owen grabbed his cell phone from the kitchen counted and tried to silence it before it woke up Tilly. She was still asleep, just down the hallway, in his bed. He had kept her up during the night and he didn’t want her to have to get up before she was ready.

“Hello,” he whispered into his cell.

“Did I wake you?” a man asked.

“No,” he breathed, “who the fuck is this?”

“Oh, yeah,” the guy said. “Sorry, man. This is Jagger from the club.” Jag was one of the new patch overs from a sister club. Owen wondered why Mace would have him call, but then again, maybe the guy was just trying to help out their Prez to show off a bit.

“What can I do for you, Jagger?” Owen asked.

“Nothing,” Jagger said. “I just called to let you know that Mace is having an emergency meeting—club members only. No Ol’ladies.”

“Okay, did he say what the meeting was about?” Owen asked.

“Nope, he just told me to call the guys and get everyone in here at about seven tonight. You good with that?” Jagger asked.

“Yeah, I’ll make it work,” Owen grumbled. He wasn’t sure what he was going to do about Tilly since she wasn’t feeling the best today. She had been dealing with an upset tummy for almost a week now and the last thing she’d want to do was get dressed and head out to his club for the evening.

“Great—only club members,” Jag quickly reminded. Well, that would take care of him having to drag Tilly out with him but leaving her alone wasn’t something that he wanted to do either.

“I don’t know if I’ll be able to make it then,” Owen insisted.

“Don’t you have someone who can sit with your woman while you take care of business here?” Jagger asked.

“No,” Owen breathed. He wasn’t about to tell this guy his life story or give him any information about his woman. “What’s with all the questions?” Owen asked.
