“How do you feel about Christmas weddings?”

I loved it, but… “I don’t really want to wait a year. I am so ready to be your husband now. The sooner the better.”

Nicholas grinned. “That’s good, because I meant now. Everything is set up, but one word from you and I will call and tell them to pretend it’s all for Christmas. Zero pressure. I just wanted to give you the magical Christmas you deserve, and our families were both on—”

“I love it and I love you. But we are in PJs.”

“We can change or not.”

I thought about it. Growing up, I dreamed about getting married the way he dreamed about getting mated. And when we mated, it wasn’t exactly how he had envisioned it, with me being human and using my pretty dull teeth. He wore his gnarly mating scar with pride.

“I want to do it in our PJs,” I said, feeling amazing about my decision. “But what about the marriage license and all that?”

“You need to believe in Christmas magic and small town bribes.” He took my hand. “Ready to get married?”

“With you, mate, I’m ready for anything. I love you,” I said.

Nicholas brushed his thumb over my cheek and cupped my face. “I love you and our amazing daughter, our beautiful house. I can’t wait to spend my whole life with you.”
