I lay down on my side next to her, and she shifted as well so we were facing each other. I took her hand that was resting in front of her. Feeling her palm on mine instantly put me at ease, my body relaxing into the mattress.

“I missed you.” Lifting our intertwined fingers, I placed a kiss on her palm.

She shivered at the touch, and my body heated at her reaction. Her hair was up in a messy knot atop her head. I ached to run my hands through her silky strands.

“Not as much as I missed you.” She shuffled forward, then tilted her head back.

Not missing the invitation, my lips met hers in a soft kiss. I held our joined hands to my chest, relishing in the taste of her.

Lying down on her back, she ran her free hand through my hair. “How was your meeting with Carter?”

“They’ve booked me on the first flight out tomorrow morning.”

Her face, which had been glowing with warmth, dimmed, her previously smiling mouth turned down. “That soon? Can’t you stay for at least a few days?”

“They wanted me out of here tonight. Letting me stay until tomorrow morning was already a concession they didn’t have to make.”

Not if I wanted to keep my job. But I didn’t add that on.

Taking a deep breath, Thea released my hand and put it to the hem of her shirt. Then she lifted it, taking her time, her gaze holding me hostage. “Then we’ll make the most of the time we have left.”

And with that, she pulled the cami over her head, leaving her torso bared to me. My breath wheezed out of me, my body coming alive as she kicked off her small pants and panties.

Lying on her back, she ran her hands over her breasts, playing with her nipples. Turning her head, she trailed her gaze up and down my body. “You’re overdressed for what I have planned next.”

“Oh yeah? Didn’t realize you had a plan.”

Arching her back, she ran one hand down her belly, keeping the other one on her breast. “You’ll like my plan.”

I swallowed, my eyes glued to her hand that was making its way down her curves. “I know I will. I’m a fan of anything that includes you.”

Her chest blushed a pretty shade of pink, and her breath stuttered out of her. Her hands stilled. “You’re still wearing too many clothes.”

I ripped my shirt over my head, throwing it behind me. My pants and boxers followed the same path before I braced myself above Thea. She wound her legs around me, her hands sinking into my hair.

Our lips brushed in a light caress, the kiss getting deeper and more out of control the longer it went on. Her hands wandered over my body, her moans turning me on more than I ever thought a little noise like that could.

I’d never needed to be close to someone else like I did with Thea. And I knew without a doubt that she was mine.

I trailed my lips down her body, relishing the way she showed me what she liked. Her responses to my every touch and kiss were uninhibited. I loved exploring every inch of her, didn’t think I’d ever get enough of feeling her silky skin, of smelling the tantalizing scent of her skin.

Only once she was writhing underneath me, her breath coming in short pants, did I reach for a condom. After sliding it on, I turned us over, positioning her on top.

She rested her hands on my chest, and she didn’t waste time positioning me at her entrance. She sank down on me, both of us shuddering. Once I was seated deep, she started moving, her nails scraping my skin.

Her mouth found mine again, our movements getting less refined with each stroke of her tongue against mine. And when she clenched around me, my orgasm hit as well. Spent, she collapsed on top of me, and I held her tight, pressing my face into her neck, placing soft kisses on her damp skin.

She fell asleep with me still inside her, murmuring my name and pressing her forehead to my throat. After allowing myself a few more minutes of holding her, I gently placed her to the side and went to the bathroom to get cleaned up.

Returning to the bed, I curved my body around her and cradled her close. Leaving her tomorrow morning would be one of the hardest things I’d ever done.

Thea didn’t stirwhen my alarm went off. She was lying half over me, one of her legs tangled with mine, one arm holding me securely to her.

Waking up like this was a dream come true. But I knew it was a dream I couldn’t fully live in yet.

I slid to the side, careful not to wake her. I didn’t think I could leave her if she was awake. The only thing making my feet move was the fact that I’d see her again. This was only a “see you later,” not a goodbye.
