When he bit his lip before licking it, my body grew hot and wet. I was overly sensitive to every caress. And when he kissed a path up one leg, then the other, I dropped back on the bed, the sensations too much.

But it meant I didn’t see what he’d planned to do next. He ran his fingers along the inside of my leg before slowly pushing them into me. I bowed off the bed, my body shaking from the pleasure crashing over me.

My limbs refused to respond when I attempted to sit back up to watch him. There was nothing sexier than the way Archer worshipped my body. He made me feel pretty, desired, special.

He erased every insecurity, doubt, and hesitation and left me with a craving so overwhelming that the only way it could be sated was by him.

I should have been prepared for his mouth and tongue to join his hands since he never did things halfway. The added sensation made my eyes close, and my hand went to my breast, pushing down my bra, teasing an already sensitive nipple. I was still wearing my sweatshirt that was now bunched up on my torso from all my movements.

Archer’s hand replaced mine, lightly pinching my nipple. The small touch was enough to make an orgasm crash over me. I didn’t get a chance to come down from my high when he bent over me. He took my sweater off my sated body, the bra following immediately after.

I dimly heard the crinkle of foil, and then he kneeled between my legs. I wrapped them around him, and he finally filled me with one hard stroke. He wasn’t gentle. He wasn’t slow. He didn’t let me adjust to his size. But it was perfect.

“You’re mine. I’m never letting you go again.”

His words came out in a low growl tinged with desire, and his eyes were on where our bodies joined, his hands holding on to my thighs in a tight grip.

“I’m yours?” My voice didn’t sound like my own. It was raspy and flooded with need.

“Oh yes.” The last word was hissed, and his movements increased.

One of his hands trailed up my leg until it found my clit. “I’ve been without you for three days, so this first time is going to be quick and hard. Then I’ll give you slow and gentle.”

I had absolutely no complaints, especially as I felt myself come again. I went over with a loud gasp, the orgasm hitting me even harder than the last one. Archer’s hand went to my ass, and he tilted me up.

He was hitting a new angle, and if I hadn’t already come twice, this would tip me over the edge. The sensation was almost too much.

Archer came with a loud groan, then leaned over, playfully dragging his teeth along my lower lip. He then brushed his mouth against mine in a soft caress, his elbows resting next to my head, his warm body covering mine.

I’d foolishly thought I was falling for this man when the truth was I’d already fallen. He’d become so much a part of me in the short time we’d reconnected that I didn’t think there’d ever be a way to get him out from under my skin.

And I hoped I never had to try.

“Don’t move. I’m going to clean up.”

I didn’t think my limbs would comply even if I wanted them to move. So I stayed where I was in a happy daze, wondering how I could find a way to not have to leave the bed for the next few days.

Archer came back, placing a kiss on my stomach, then lifting me and placing me on the bed before sliding in next to me, pulling the covers over us. I moved into his side, throwing my leg over his hip and resting my hand on his stomach.

His hand covered mine, then lifted it to his lips for a soft kiss. “I hope you know how happy I am that you’re here.”

Dropping our hands back on his chest, he held on tight.

Turning my head into his shoulder, I breathed him in before brushing my lips against his skin.

We spent the rest of the night in his bed, eating a dinner of burritos we’d microwaved after he’d dug them out of his fridge. It was one of the best days of my life, and I fell asleep feeling cherished and safe.

“So what do you do, Thea?”Leif asked.

My time in Chicago felt like living a dream. I’d been here for six days, and this was the first night we didn’t fall into bed as soon as Archer came home. Instead, he’d taken me out to a bar a few blocks from his apartment to meet up with some of his friends.

We were all crammed around a corner booth, drinks in front of everyone, the mood light. Everyone had cheered when Archer walked through the door, since apparently he didn’t go out much.

“I’m not really working at the moment.”

Archer’s arm around me tightened, and he turned his attention to our conversation. He’d been talking to one of the other guys sitting opposite us. When they compared gun sizes, I’d tuned out. Which was when Leif had asked his question.
