Before the call could connect, the bike next to me swerved hard, hitting the driver’s side of my car, causing me to lose my grip on the wheel as my car veered to the right, sending me onto the shoulder. Just as I looked up, I screamed as a concrete culvert appeared out of nowhere.

“Oh, God,” I gasped. “He ran me off the road!”

“Who, Sunny? Think,” Mia said, reaching for my hand. “You’ve seen that man before. You know who he is.”

Shaking my head, I cried. “I don’t. There were two of them. Both men were there. Only one made me crash.”

“Concentrate on the one who caused the crash, Sunny. Who is that man?” Kitty encouraged.

“He had a scar on his face.”

“What else?” Mia asked frantically, as the shadows were almost upon us.

“He was bald. Tattoos inked on his head, even some on his face. He had three teardrops under his left eye. A long scar that ran down the side of his face from his eye to the tip of his jaw.”

“That’s right, Sunny. Who was that man?” Kitty asked.

“Hurry, Sunny!” Mia shouted as the shadows swirled around my feet.

Closing my eyes, I rummaged through my mind for the answer. It was right there, on the tip of my tongue. I knew who that man was. I just needed to remember where I saw him from when the truth raced towards me.

Opening my eyes, I gasped. “Oh, God, I know who he is!”

“Say it!” Both women shouted.

“It’s Scab, from Satan’s Angels MC!” I said as a bright light blinded me.

I opened my eyes again to find myself in a white room, lying in a bed as Jessica sat next to me, holding my hand.

Chapter Twelve

Sandman

Walking into the clubhouse, I ignored my brothers, who all stopped and stared as I raced up the stairs to my room. Someone hurt my Sunshine. Someone tried to kill her. For that alone, I was going to tear the world apart and make the son of a bitch pay.

No one touched her.

Ever.

She was mine.

Mine to protect.

Heading straight for our room, I kicked open the door and walked towards the closet. Grabbing my duffle bag from the floor, I turned and placed it on the bed. Unzipping it, I made sure everything I needed was still in there. Seeing that everything was where I left it, I zipped it back up before picking it up and throwing it over my shoulder.

Turning to leave, I spotted Bullseye, Slaughter, and Digger standing in my room. All three were blocking my exit.

“Move.”

“Whatcha doin’, man?” Digger asked, crossing his arms over his chest.

“Leaving.”

“Where are you going?” Bullseye questioned.

“Away.”

“Sandman,” Slaughter carefully said, stepping forward. “Whatever is wrong, let us help you. Sunny needs you here.”
