“Your brother?” Monk sneered, pressing his forehead against the barrel of my gun. “He’s a fucking Diamondback. Can’t you fucking read? Or are you that fucking stupid?”

A gunshot rang out as Monk stumbled back a few steps, grabbing his shoulder. I didn’t need to ask who took the shot, because in the next instant, I heard Remi gasp as several Diamondbacks’ eyes widened in shock.

Shadow grinned, whispering, “Son of a bitch.”

Then, as if he was just a mirage, I knew he disappeared back into the darkness once more.

“Okay, that’s it!” Kansas roared furiously. “Goddamned fucking Golden Skulls are a fucking pain in my ass. Dakota, Arizona, get Remi the hell out of here. Do as Sandman said and get her and the kids to her sister in Vegas. Sandman, got love for you, but Monk is right. These fuckers are here for you. You will stay and help clean this mess up.”

“No.”

“What do you mean, no?” Kansas growled.

“Not here for me,” I said, looking at Remi, whose face paled even more, if that was possible.

“They’re here for me,” she whispered. “That’s why Max is here, isn’t it? He’s still protecting me.”

I nodded.

“Oh God,” she gasped, shaking her head. “That’s why Sunny was in the accident and almost died. They want retribution for what happened to Steele. I’m right. Aren’t I?”

“And because Montana helped,” Kansas added, rubbing the back of his neck, looking at his brothers, Dakota, and Arizona. “That son of a bitch is interfering again.”

“Motherfucker,” Dakota cursed. “He’s doing it again.”

Arizona shook his head. “Shit! What the hell is he thinking?”

“It doesn’t matter,” Kanas sneered at his brothers. “Get Remi and the kids to safety. I’ll take care of our big brother. Bastard may think he runs the largest MC in the world, but he’s in for a rude awakening if he thinks he will win this war.”

Chapter Thirty

Sunny

I hurt.

Moaning, I opened my eyes to find my sister Remi standing next to Wraith and a beautiful woman, talking quietly.

“Remi?”

My sister turned, smiling. “Hi, sweetheart.”

“What are you doing here?” I asked, looking around the room I was in. Nothing looked familiar. Where was I? Where was Solomon? “What happened?”

“Sunny, my name is Valhalla. You are in the Nyght Nymphs clubhouse, just south of Las Vegas.”

“Where is Solomon?”

Valhalla looked at Remi, who sighed. “He’s not here, honey. We don’t know where he is.”

“What happened?” I asked again, wincing as I slowly sat up.

“Sunny, when you arrived, you were hemorrhaging badly. You ripped the cervical cerclage stitch, which set off a chain of events I couldn’t stop. I tried everything but I’m so sorry. You lost the baby.”

Taking a deep breath, I looked around the room.

I heard her. Some part of me cried out, wanted to sink deep and mourn the loss of my baby, but as I looked around the room, what I wanted most wasn’t there. Turning to my sister, I asked again, “Where is Solomon?”

“He’s hunting, baby.”
