“Are you okay, Pala? Are you mad? I don’t know what came over me. Do I need to apologize?”

A feeling of pure joy, reminiscent of the bliss I had just floated through, whispered through my chest. Only it wasn’t coming from me.

“Do you feel that, Dio? I’ve spent so long missing you and Sam. It felt like a cut that wouldn’t heal. Now you’ve given me the gift of feeling you near even when you’re not and you think you need to apologize? No, Dio. I’m okay. I am so very okay.”

I finally found the energy to shift my head, to look at them both. They were lying with their foreheads together and Pala had his other arm around Dio. I searched the bond and realized their relationship wasn’t sexual like I had thought earlier, not really.

While they’d seemed more than happy to watch each other ravish me minutes ago and weren’t averse to rubbing their dicks on each other, it wasn’t the nature of their relationship. They didn’t crave each other the way they did me.

Their bond went so much deeper than skin. It was a pure connection that was woven into the very fabric of their beings. They weren’t each other’s anchor in this world, but they were each other’s support. It was like a bromance on steroids.

It was almost as if they were two twins that were unrelated. Their bond was two souls recognizing each other and saying ‘mine,’ in a way that went beyond physical or any kind of social classification like boyfriend, lover, friend. It just was, and it was beautiful.

They must have felt me watching, as they both opened their eyes and glanced at me.

“Whatcha talkin bout?” I mumbled lazily.

Dio grinned at me, and his dimple popped out. I immediately felt all goofy inside. “I bit and claimed Pala,” he blurted out.

I just raised my eyebrow at him, and he shrugged, completely nonplussed. Pala was just lying there, looking content and smiling gently at me.

“Yeah, me too,” I mumbled. I mean, really, who could resist? He was edible.

“Shit happens,” Dio said with a laugh, but he sobered up quickly and I felt a twinge of anxiety through the bond. “Wait, you’re not upset, are you? It doesn’t change how I feel about you, it’s not the same sort of claim. At least I don’t think it is -”

“Shush, Dio. Do I feel upset?” I stroked his arm gently to reassure him.

“Uh, no,” he replied, “You feel pretty damn chill.”

“That’s because I’m not upset, okay? So chill out, too.”

“Whatever you say, wifey,” he said with a smile.

“Are you going to call Pala wifey too, or maybe hubby?” I asked.

“No. I mean, if he wants. I don’t. It’s not-”

“Do not call me wifey or hubby, Dio, or I’ll kick your ass. Got it?” Pala interrupted as he chuckled at our antics.

“Roger Wilco. Reading you loud and clear, amigo,” Dio said with a smirk.

I didn’t bother asking Pala if he was okay with me biting and claiming him without asking. I could feel how very okay he was. He turned his gaze to me and seemed to feel what I was thinking.

“You can call me whatever you want, my heart. I’ll wear your bite proudly, as I will Dio’s.” I turned and smiled into his chest, feeling overwhelmed yet so happy.

A rough cough from my other side had my eyes widening.

“I brought you some towels and blankets, figured you might need them,” Dave said gruffly. I looked around, finally feeling like I could move my body again, to see Dave with his back to us, holding out the linens.

“Thank you, Dave,” I said.

“Hey, where the hell have you been?” Dio asked him as he hopped up and grabbed the blanket. He came back and draped it over me, before heading back and grabbing a towel for himself.

“I was keeping watch from the deck, making sure no one was stalking you guys from the trees.”

“Uh, you were watching us, you say? Wow, pervy much?” Dio teased and Dave turned around to playfully lunge at him, but Dio jumped back too fast.

“Now, now, that’s how this whole thing started. With Lex trying to cop a cheap feel,” Dio said as he wound the towel around himself. “If you wanted in on this action, you could have come down and joined in.”
