Jude walks in, surprising me. He notices my tears, and he instantly looks concerned.
“Oh! I didn’t hear you come in.”
“What’s wrong, babygirl?” he asks, wiping away my tears.
“Nothing is wrong. Nothing at all,” I say, smiling even as tears continue falling.
“Tears usually mean something is wrong, love.”
I shake my head and hand him the pregnancy test. He looks from it to me and back again. I bite my bottom lip, wondering what he’s thinking. He’s been talking about getting me pregnant from the first time we made love, so he has to be happy about this baby. Right?
Before I can start filling my mind with doubts, Jude picks me up and spins me around. I giggle and wrap my arms around his neck.
“We’re having a baby!” he shouts.
“Are you happy?” I ask.
He sets me down and cups my face. “I’m so deliriously happy that I’m afraid this moment isn’t real.”
“It’s really real.”
His lips crash against mine in a searing kiss that takes my breath away. Every kiss with Jude takes my breath away.
“I love you so much, babygirl. Thank you for making me the happiest man in the world.”
“I love you too, Daddy.”
