Me: Ur very pushy!

Unknow: I am.

Me: I don’t like it.

Unknown: Fair. How old are you?

That’s bold. I want to leave him hanging but now I’m wondering the same thing about him.

Crap.

I’m getting interested.

Me: Early 20’s. U?

Unknown: 32. What do you do?

Me: Ur getting very personal here…

Unknown: How else do you get to know someone?

Me: U were looking for another girl!

Me: Y in the world would u want to know me then?!

Me: This is ridiculous. I’m going 2 bed.

Shutting my phone off, I don’t wait for some weird reply. He’s a player. Has to be. There’s no other reason he’d be looking for one girl only to start asking about me.

This is why I’m single.

Okay, not completely, but one reason.

Another is living in a small city means I tend to know most everyone and those I don’t, know those I do. Everyone has dated everyone around here and it feels a bit like double dipping your nachos in queso at the office Christmas party.

Gross.

I shudder thinking about the dating pool around me. Slim pickings if you ask me.

And now I want nachos.

Rolling over, I shut the light off and smother myself in my blanket. Needing a break from my own head, I fall into a restless sleep, waking up in the morning more tired than when I went to sleep.

CHAPTER2

Leon

DECEMBER 15TH

“What’s that slick grin for? Finally convince someone to attend that Christmas party with you?” Slater Mercy asks as he drops down onto the bench next to me. The rookie forward is cocky but he’s got his head on straighter than most guys his age. I like him.

“I met a girl.” I can’t hide my excitement. Star is reluctant and sweet and addicting. So fucking addicting. She’s been reluctant to text me back every time I message her but according to her, the manners her mama taught her are drilled into her, so she can’t ignore me. And I’m taking full advantage.

“Oh yeah?” He grins as he begins lacing up his skates for the game tonight. “What’s she look like?”

That’s the most amazing part of this, “I don’t have a fucking clue.” Laughing at the shock on his face, I pull out my phone to see if she’s responded yet.

My Good Girl: Ur very strange Leon.
