I glance at the crowd. Lukas has a large group hanging off his every word. Our eyes meet over the group, and he edges them towards the terrace. Likewise, Scarlet is dancing with Silas Hastings, a very rich hotelier, one of the trio of alphas that make up Pack Treyfield. They make a stunning couple and both dance seamlessly. And they are attracting all the attention I need.

I turn away and head for the bathrooms.

“Stop.” Ava snaps.

I do as she insists and glance around.

“There’s a storage room right in front of you. Missy mentioned it before, but I didn’t think anything of it. I’m looking at the schematics and the building blueprints and what we have in our database, but they aren’t adding up. It’s bigger and goes back several feet.” Ava’s voice rises in excitement. “I think that’s it!”

I eye the door and then deliberately turn away, pacing towards the guests standing on the terrace.

“Send in Darion.” I murmur.

I hear the chatter from Ava as she sends the order.

My heart is pounding, my head aching, and the effort to restrain myself is taking everything I have. Missy is here, somewhere in this mansion, I can feel it, but the danger is all around us. I calm myself, going into the dark, deep space inside me where there is only the violence and my feelings for her.

I will get her back. I don’t allow myself any doubts. I will. We will. And then I will ruin them all.

Darion comes in calm as anything, smiling and chatting as he approaches. It takes twenty minutes of him moving towards me before he finally breaks free of the people trying to kiss his ass. He approaches me and wraps his arms around my neck, leaning up to kiss me.

I tug him up against me and turn us so that he can see over my shoulder while I suck hard on his throat, edging us deeper into the shadows, closer to that door.

He’s silent for several long moments.

“Yes,” the exhaled sound is a mix of fear, triumph, hate, and desperation, and I know we’ve found it at last. That door we’ve been searching a decade for.

We’re coming, Missy.

Darion

I break away from Sebastian and kiss his jaw one last time. I pause, stroking my hand down his chest. “Seb…”

“I know,” he murmurs.

I lean back in and press our lips together, a lingering kiss that tells him all the words I want to say.

“Send in Lukas.” Seb murmurs into my shoulder. He rubs his face against my shoulder and then steps back and lets me go.

I head towards the restroom, taking a moment to watch the crowd, seeing if anyone is watching me. Sebastian heads back into the party, ready to stop anyone who comes in our direction. I linger in my place with my hands in my pockets.

I keep my mind blank, but it feels like there’s a storm at the gate pressing against me. A storm of fear and rage mixed with all of what she means to me.

Lukas wraps himself around me from behind, grinding his hips into my ass. I spin in his hold, throw my arms around him.

“Darion,” he murmurs.

I slip my tongue into his mouth, desperately taking the comfort he’s offering. He whimpers as I kiss him until I’m holding us both up. A couple walk past us, tittering. I tear myself back to reality and kiss his neck.

“Ready?” I ask.

He nods. I push him back towards the door where he lands heavily, sliding across so that he’s pressing his back against the wood.

“This it?” He asks.

“Yeah,” I say and grab his ass, pulling his hips into mine.
