“I can’t trust you, any of you,” I say. I take a slow step back, letting their grips on me drop.

“I’m going home, it’s where I belong. We need some time apart, it’s for the best right now. I need to deal with my father’s things, and you can go back to doing whatever it is you do,” I tell them, crossing my arms across my chest. Cass worries the inside of his cheek as King steps forward gripping my chin with his fingers.

“Fuck that, princess, not fucking happening,” he growls.

I meet King’s eyes, his hand sneaks across my throat, his fingers wrapping around the column of my neck.

“Nova …” His jaw goes rigid. “I can’t lose you,” he says.

“I need space,” I say again.

“Then have space here. We’ll leave you alone, you can …” He stops when I shake my head.

“It’s not the same, King, and you know it.”

Their idea of space is barging in after five minutes.

“Baby girl, please,” Jordy says, stepping forward caressing his fingers across my cheek.

King’s hand drops from my neck, forcing himself to take a step back and he watches me, not once removing his gaze from me.

“It’s not safe on your own,” Jordy says, running his fingers across my cheek again.

“Please let us take care of you,” Bass asks.

I wet my lips, searching for the right words, each of their gaze’s pierce into mine as I open my mouth.

“I’m going home, right now, that's what I want.” I just need space away from them with all the lies unfolding. Everything feels overwhelming and being here isn’t going to help me. I feel suffocated.

Jordy takes a step back, his hand falling to his side. He looks back at the others and Cass steps forward, leaning in he places a kiss to my temple before whispering, “If that's what you want, pup, we’ll honor it.”

Each of them steps forward following Cass and kisses the top of my head before Bass gestures for me to head down the stairs.

“I’ll take you home.”

I expected more of a fight, maybe they’re finally understanding why I need to do this.

With one final look back before closing my eyes, I follow Bass. I know without a doubt that this isn't over, The Sinners aren’t just going to let me go, but I can’t stay. Not right now. I need time, I need answers.

Bass walks Nova out.Knowing he won’t leave and will keep watch is the only reason I'm letting her walk out of here right now. She wants space, fine, but she does it on our terms.

So much has happened in the last seven days and I can only imagine how she feels.

I’m still holding onto one big secret, and I’m afraid to say it out loud. My jaw works from side to side when I hear the click of the front door.

“Are we really going to let her go?” Jordy demands as he begins pacing between Cass and me.

“We can’t force her to stay,” Cass says, sliding down the wall and resting his arms over his knees.

“Fuck that. We could handcuff her to the bed or fucking strap her down, either would work.” Jordy growls, clearly frustrated.

“We give her space,” I say.

“So, what, we just leave her alone while three fucking psychopaths are after her?” Jordy barks, throwing his hands up.

“No,” Both Cass and I snap at the same time.

“We take turns watching her, watching the house,” Cass tells him. I nod agreeing with him, Jordy walks off storming to his room before slamming the door. I slide down the opposite wall to Cass.
