I turn my head looking back at King, then back at Bass.
Cass eyes me over his shoulder. Did he know?
“King told me yesterday,” Cass says.
“Were you afraid you’d lose me?” I ask out loud, the question so loud in my head.
They both nod, Bass looks out the window, pain etches his features as he stares into the distance.
“I can’t lose you, I won't survive.” He swallows.
“Either of you.” He turns his gaze toward Bass who finally looks up, tears filling his eyes.
“I have to tell Jordy, but I wanted you to know, Nova. No more secrets,” he grits out.
I nod, thoughts are running wild in my head and I’m unsure how to say it out loud.
“Say something, please,” Bass pleads.
Sucking in a breath, my lips twitch, and I can't quite wipe the smile from my face.
“Can I watch?” I ask. Both King and Bass flip their surprised gazes toward me while Cass lets out a chuckle.
“You want to watch,” Bass asks, flipping his finger between himself and King.
I nod.
“You’re not upset about it?” King raises his eyebrow as he starts the truck.
I shake my head smiling. “No. Should I be?”
“We still love you the same, mamas. It’s just different,” Bass says. King rakes his hand through his hair, and his brows furrow hard, straightening up he turns the truck heading out of the cemetery.
“If that's what you want, princess, we’ll be happy to deliver,” King says, smiling back at me.
“I’m fine with you guys showing our girl a good time, but maybe we build up to the five of us, yeah,” Cass says, looking over at King then back at Bass.
“Why? Are you afraid you’ll fall in love with me too?” King says, smirking and elbowing Cass playfully.
“Haha,” Cass says, laughing. “Actually, no, I'm just not sure I’m ready to see my friends going at it.”
“Why? I think it’ll be hot,” I say, making them all nearly choke on their own saliva as we drive.
“Damn, girl, warn a man before you say something like that,” Bass says.
“For what it’s worth, Nova, we’re really fucking sorry,” King murmurs his voice gritty and raw.
“I know,” I mutter.
Frowning, I go quiet for the rest of the drive. Cass eyes me over his shoulder a few times, and Bass reaches for me, his fingers brushing against mine.
I may be okay with them being, whatever if it is they are, I’m just not okay with the lying. I think I have the right to be mad just a little while longer.
“Wow,I did not see that coming?” Jordy says surprise coating his face. Telling him I was bi and that Bass and I have some uncharted chemistry between us was definitely not what he expected when I told him I needed to tell him something.
“So, Nova’s okay with this? With you two?” he says, gesturing between Bass and me. We both nod because now that everyone knows I feel lighter, freer I guess.
Jordy shrugs. “As long as you’re happy I guess I am.” He looks toward Cass who nods in agreement.
