“You'll learn to care about him, Nova.”

“Never.” Miller walks back in carrying something in his arms. I finally see what it is when he holds it out in one hand as the rest drops down, my eyes widen taking in the chain that's attached to what looks like a collar.

“You're going to be my good little girl, Nova, or I'll have to punish you,” Miller demands, moving toward me.

I shuffle back, kicking my legs at him as he grabs me and drags me closer.

“No,” I scream.

“It's better if you listen, baby,” he whispers, moving his finger across my cheek and down my neck. A wicked smile forms on his lips.

Glaring up at both of them, I smile letting out a laugh. “They're going to kill you.”

“Oh, I think that's where you're wrong, Nova,” Carter states.

“Those boys of yours won't be coming to rescue you.”

He smiles coyly.

And the moment Miller drags a huge curtain back my eyes widen when I see Kingston, Cassius, and Jordan all tied to chairs, bloody, beaten, and definitely not coming to my rescue.

Bass is missing and now I'm worried whatever he's hiding might just be the end of us.

Looking between them, I can tell they’re hurt. Carter goes up to Cass, pushing a gun to his head. Ripping the tape from around his mouth, Cass flinches with the burn.

“No, please, don’t,” I cry out.

“Here’s how it's going to work, Nova. You’re going to choose who lives and who dies,” Carter says with a smug grin over his face.

“They all live.” I hiccup.

Carter lets out a chuckle, just as the door opens and a man walks in watching as Carter lifts his arm whacking the gun across Cass’ cheek. Covering my mouth, with a whimper, I watch as blood drips down Cass’ face, then Carter moves toward Jordy ripping the tape from his mouth. Repeating what he did with Cass, he points the gun at his head.

“Please,” I cry, tears cascade down my face as Jordy clenches his jaw, his gaze finds mine and I can’t hold back the terrified cry as Carter shoves the gun harder into his skull.

“Please, don’t,” I plead with him as the man watches me.

“Make her choose?” the man growls, crossing his arms across his chest.

“Which one, Nova? You can only choose one?” He smirks, and I already know it doesn't matter who I choose, he's going to kill them all regardless.

“Come on, it can’t be that hard. Who do you love more, Nova?” He sniggers like I'd ever pick between them.

“Who?” Carter screams.

I cower as he storms across to me, raising his arm with the gun.

“Fuck you,” King grunts. “Don’t you fucking touch her,” he snaps, struggling behind his restraints.

Carter strolls toward him, the gun colliding with his face, the sickening sound echoes through the room, and King’s groans follow.

“I guess I’ll pick for you?” Miller says, smiling down at me as his fingers grip my hair, tugging my head back so hard it feels like he’s ripped strands of hair from my head.

The woman who came in earlier just sits by watching it all unfold like she isn’t fazed by the violence.

The other man approaches her whispering something in her ear before she smiles up at him and then slowly leaves the room.

“You want to tell her Bass’ dirty little secret?” Carter asks King. King glares at him. He knows?
