Jamie gave him the finger and Ethan mumbled a “you wish.”

Jessie told Jamie, “We’re just getting ready to watch another movie. Want to join us?”

“Actually, I do want to snuggle up and watch a movie.”

Jamie yelled down the stairs. “We’re staying upstairs to watch a movie with the girls.”

One by one, each of the guys ventured upstairs and settled in by their woman, and the movie was started. Jax, Caleb, and David Haggerty were the only single or unattached guys, but they found spots on the floor and settled in for movie time, too.

This wasn’t a raucous bunch of people; these were people strong in family and relationships. He thought it was the best bachelor party ever.

The next morning, one by one, people started waking up. They had all fallen asleep on the floor or sofa or wherever they had been sitting while watching movies last night. Sam smelled coffee and opened her eyes to look around. She smiled as she looked at the sea of people in their living room. They were lying wherever there was room. It was wall-to-wall bodies and drink glasses and bowls of leftover popcorn and snacks. It was going to take a while to clean everything up. She hadn’t even seen the basement yet. But, she was content and happy and didn’t care. If they were still stuck at home, it would be something to do. Then it dawned on her that it was Sunday. What about the family lunch at Harry and Mary’s?

She looked over at the kitchen to see who had made the coffee and saw Harry and Mary sitting at the table looking at their family, both wearing soft smiles. Mary winked at her, and she smiled. She twisted to sit up, and Gray’s arms closed around her tighter.

“Where do you think you’re going?” he whispered in her ear.

Sam turned her head to look at him. “I’m going to get a cup of coffee. Do you want one?”

He let out a sigh and hugged her tighter.

“Yes, I was going to get up and get you a cup when I heard Mom and Dad making it, but I wanted to lay here with you in my arms a while longer. Last night was nice, having everyone here, watching movies, laughing with each other. Thank you.”

Sam turned in his arms to face him.

“Thank you. It was wonderful that all you guys came up here to watch movies with us. Sarah gave me the sweetest toast last night. She had us all in tears just before you all came upstairs.”

He kissed her nose and her lips. “I heard about it. Cole told me last night.”

Her brows furrowed. “When?”

He chuckled, and the rumbling in his chest sounded like the sweetest music. “You girls fell asleep before us men did. After the last movie, we just sat here talking and watching our women sleep.”

She smirked and shook her head, kissed his sexy lips and stood to get coffee. She looked over the sea of bodies.

She whispered, “Wow, this is cool, isn’t it?”

He nodded. “It’s really cool.”

They weaved their way through, making certain not to step on anyone. When they entered the kitchen, she bent and kissed Mary on the cheek, then Harry.

“Morning.”

“Morning to you both. What time did all the men come upstairs?” Harry grinned at Gray.

“I guess around midnight. We watched movies and fell asleep.”

Gray filled cups for himself and Sam and went around and refilled Harry and Mary’s cups. She watched his backside as he made another pot, reminding herself once again how lucky she was.

Mary sighed. “I can’t remember the last time all of my kids were sleeping under one roof, let alone my grandchildren, too. Except for Mori, everyone is here. We’ve been sitting here looking at you all and reflecting on how fortunate we are. It’s a special moment for us this morning.”

She turned to Gray, and they both nodded. “We were just saying the same thing, Mom. After the girls had fallen asleep last night, a couple of us were awake and talked about that same thing—Cole, Jamie, Josh, Jake, and I. We have women we love, everyone loves each other, no drama no bullshit. We enjoy spending time with each other. Last night for any other family would have been no men allowed and the women at the bar and vice versa, but with this group, we wanted to be together and laugh and talk and share. I don’t think I’ve ever in my life had moments that make me feel like I do now.”

They sat quietly and sipped their coffee and soon Jamie and Jessie came in and sat with them. Jessie hugged Sam and sat down next to her. Jamie got them each coffee and came and refilled everyone’s mugs before sitting down.

He looked at Gray. “How will you know when the police apprehend Cheryl?”
