Jessie wiped her eyes the best she could without smearing her makeup. “I love you, too, Sam. Thank you for being my friend. Thank you for introducing me to Jamie, even though you didn’t even know you did. Thank you for everything.”

“Mom, you have to go get married.” Josh stood in the doorway. “Wow, you look amazing, Mom! Gray’s going to flip.”

She laughed. “Okay, let’s go get me married.”

Standing in the front entrance to the church, she took a deep breath. The music started.

Jessie walked down the aisle, and she took another deep breath. She didn’t want to cry; she wanted to smile. She was happy. She was marrying Gray.

Pam walked down the aisle next. From behind Gage and Jake, she snuck a peek at Gray. He was so handsome. He was perfect in his champagne tux, the purple shirt the same color as the girl’s dresses and the purple tie. He looked like perfection. His hair was combed back with the length hitting the back of his collar and curling up. She loved how his hair curled up in the back. The front had a slight wave to it, and the little lock of hair that always fell forward on his forehead was there just calling to her to move it back. She grinned.

“Ready?” She looked up to see Gage and Jake looking back at her.

“Yeah, I’msoready.”

Gage and Jake began walking. She and Josh waited until they had walked several feet in front of them, then she and Josh began. When she walked into the church, she heard the audible sighs and gasps when people saw her. It made her smile that they thought she was beautiful. She looked at a few faces and smiled at the family members and friends who had gathered on such short notice to celebrate with them. Mr. and Mrs. Koepple had made the trip as well—how fitting.

Unable to resist any longer, she looked up at her future, the bewildered look on his face and the glistening in his eyes threatened to break her down, but she refused to cry today.

There's more here than what we’re seeing, a divine conspiracy.

They stopped at the end of the aisle before Gray. Their eyes were locked on each other—it seemed no one else existed.

Josh nudged Gray. “Take care of her. We love her.”

Gray glanced at Josh and shook his hand. “I promise you with everything I have in me; I’ll take care of her, love her, and protect her.”

Josh nodded at Gray, then turned and looked at Sam. “We love you, Mom.”

She hugged her boys. “I love you all, too. Thank you.”

Gray held out his arm, and she wrapped hers around it as they walked up the steps to the stage.

Pastor Jay cleared his throat. “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome …”

The pastor read a prayer and spoke a few words, but she wasn’t listening to the words, she was looking at Gray. Then the music started for the next song “All for Love,” by Bryan Adams, Sting, and Rod Stewart. They each picked one song, and they chose their recessional together. This was her pick for him. She watched his face as the words floated over them, the gooseflesh on her arms created a slight shiver.

When it's love you give, I'll be a man of good faith, then in love you live…

She smiled at him. “Do you like it, Gray?” she whispered.

His eyes watered. He swallowed and nodded. “I love it Sam … it’s perfect for us.”

She grinned and nodded. She hadn’t been sure she could keep the song a secret, but she did.

When it's love you make, I'll be the fire in your night,

When it's love you take, I will defend, I will fight…

That it's all for one and all for love, Let the one you hold be the one you want…

Gray turned to her and pulled her close, he swayed with her, then danced across the stage with her in his arms. She could feel his heartbeat against her chest as he held her close; his hand shook as he held hers. She blinked rapidly and swallowed. After taking a couple of deep breaths, she could calm herself. She looked into his eyes again and saw love. Perfect.

When the song ended, Gray, leaned down and kissed her very gently. She smiled and squeezed his hand.

The pastor cleared his throat, and they turned to face him.

“That’s the first time a bride and groom danced during a song, but certainly a memorable moment.”
