“Let me check with security on the plane and make sure we’re good before you get out.”

Tank walked to the plane, and the door opened to allow him to slip inside.

Gray whispered, “Are you happy, baby?”

She laughed. “I’m delirious. Of course, that could be all the wine I drank, but at any rate, I’m delirious.” She laughed at the look on his face.

“Good. I like you delirious.”

Tank opened the door, and they climbed out.

“All is good; we can take off.”

They walked up the steps of the plane. The pilot and stewardess were there to greet them. She was surprised at the opulence of the plane. Cream-colored seats and dark wood tables and trim work. There was a sofa on one side and tables surrounded by chairs on the other side. Gray directed Sam to one of the chairs in front of a table, and he sat next to her.

“Until the pilot gives us the all clear, we need to sit here. Once we’re up in the air, we’ll head back to the bedroom where I intend to keep my promise and ravage you.”

He winked and chuckled.

Her brows rose into her hair. “Holy cow! There’s a bedroom on-board?”

He smiled. “Gregory invited me over this week to give me a tour of the plane and show me where everything was. He wanted us to enjoy this and asked me to extend his congratulations to you.”

“Wow, what an amazing gift.”

“He’s a great client. I’ve designed several buildings for him over the years.”

After takeoff, the stewardess came over and asked them if they wanted something to drink.

Gray nodded. “Yes, we would both like a glass of white wine.”

Her brows furrowed.

Gray smiled. “We’re taking our wine to the bedroom, where I intend to drink it off of you.”

She giggled. “That sounds fun! When are you telling me where we’re going?”

He leaned over and kissed her. “You’ll find out later.”

The stewardess brought them their wine, and Gray lifted his glass. “I want to make a toast. Samantha Kinkaide …” His smiled was a sight to behold. “I love you beyond belief. I’ve been half a man my entire life, but today I’m whole. I’m so happy, for lack of a better word, that you are in my life. You are my life. Thank you, Sam, for making me whole.”

She swiped at the pesky tear that slid down her cheek. She shook her head but couldn’t say anything because of the lump in her throat. Gray looked over at Tank, who was sitting at the next table. “Tank, you’re off duty while we’re on the plane, so feel free to enjoy a drink or snack or just sleep. We’ll be in the air for a while now.”

Tank nodded and smiled. “Thank you, Gray. Congratulations to you and Mrs. Kinkaide.” He grinned and winked at Sam.

A little while after takeoff, the pilot told them they could move around the cabin. Gray stood and reached for her hand.

“Bring your wine, baby, and come with me.”

She stood and grabbed her glass of wine, following him to the bedroom, her cheeks tinted bright red.

He must have sensed her hesitation because he looked back and shook his head. “I’ve told you before; I don’t care what anyone else thinks. I want you, and I’ve waited all day for this. Especially after this morning. I’ve been thinking about that all day.”

She giggled. “Sorry.”

The bedroom was equally as gorgeous as the rest of the plane. The bed had a cream-colored duvet with cream, gold, and light tan pillows were thrown about. The furniture was all dark cherry, making the contrast even more pronounced. She had never seen anything like it. He turned to her after closing the door, took the wineglass from her hand, and set it on the bedside table. He walked back to her and kissed her softly. He lifted her left arm and kissed her mark, never taking his eyes from hers.

“I love this. You’ll never know how many times I dreamed about this or what it means to me that you’re wearing my mark.”
