He laughs. “I thought you would want to keep working. You love your job. And I don’t take money from my parents, if that’s what you’re worried about. I’ve been working hard for the past four years since I got in with the crew, going from job to job instead of taking the time off I probably should have. So, I’ve built up a great nest egg, and I have a trust from my grandparents. Also, if I want it, there’s a cushy job waiting for me with my family’s corporation that will pay me way too much money. I’m not sure if I’m ready for that life, but I’ve been considering it since I learned about Owen. I want to provide the best life for him, so it feels inevitable that I’ll take the job at some point. But that’s neither here, nor there for the moment. Right now, I just want to kiss you again and again until we get tired of kissing each other.”

“I don’t think that will ever happen.”

“Let’s find out.” He kisses me this time, sweeping his tongue into my mouth. Electric, like always. His fingertips graze up my neck and around, cupping my head in his large hand. Sparks lay beneath every touch. Everett kisses my chin and jaw, then down my throat. I bite a moan to stop from making too much sound.

“We should go take this to the bedroom.”

Carefully, he pulls back and sits up. “I was just enjoying kissing you, Aria. I don’t want to make things confusing for Owen, so I should probably go home instead.”

“He knows who you are, Everett. He’s not confused anymore.” I take his hands in mine and tug, so he stands. “If you want to go home, that’s okay. But I want you to stay the night.”And maybe forever.

He nods, so I lead him to my room. It feels like a replay of the other night, but also like it’s the first time. Because now, we know what we’re in for, and we know how we feel. I love him, and he loves me, and this time, things are sweeter. Slower. Better. So much better.

Every touch, every look. The way his fingers feel. The glide of his tongue. Even our kisses are better. He gets me wetter than ever with his touch alone, and I’m molten at my core. I want him so badly that I ache for it.

As he rolls the condom down his shaft, he murmurs in my ear, “I want to try something.”

“What’s that?”

He pulls me to the wall, then lifts me up and brings my legs around his waist. From there, he backs me against the wall and thrusts into me. The wall is cold, but he is not, and I’m out of my mind with the pleasure of him. It’s too good, too sweet. How can anyone take a lifetime of something this powerful? Each stroke sets me on fire, and it’s impossible to think of anything but the pleasure coursing through me and lodging in my belly. The wall limits his thrusts and after a while, he slows to a stop to kiss me long and deep. He pants in my face and murmurs, “Fuck, I had no idea it could be like this.”

“Me either.”

His body twitches and soon, he’s back at me. His body dragging against my spot. When I come, he kisses me, claiming my mouth as much as my body. He pulls out to come in the condom, and I claim his mouth in return. When we end up in the bed, he spoons me and plants kisses against my neck. “Never knew you could make love against a wall. Always seemed like sex against a wall was the other thing.”

“Fucking?”

He chuckles. “Yeah. But with you, everything is making love. Sitting next to you. Holding your hand.” He nuzzles against me and his lips brush against my neck. “Being inside of you. All of it is making love. Just different parts. Even if I were hammering you as hard as I could, it would be making love.”

“Have you ever hammered me as hard as you could?”

“Not yet.”

“Mm, I like that you saidyet.”

He smiles against me there, and his body tries to come to life against my ass. “If I get that cushy office job, I’m going to have to spend so much time in the gym just to stay strong enough to keep you on your toes.”

I giggle. “Hell, I’m going to have to join a gym just to keep up with you in the bedroom. You’re in way better shape than me.”

“There is no better shape than you.”

“Wow, you’re cheesy after you make love.”

He laughs. “That is your fault entirely.”

“As much as I’d love for you to punish me for it, I’m afraid I might doze off. You wore me out.”

“Oh, we are definitely getting you to the gym, young lady. Gotta build your cardio. One and done? That’s not for us.”

I fall asleep giggling with my very silly man.

“In all the time I spent in Manhattan, I never thought I’d come to The Plaza as a guest instead of a caterer,” Lily notes as we sip champagne in the hotel’s ballroom. Well, she sips the non-alcoholic stuff they give the kids and anyone trying to get pregnant.
