NICKOLAY

“If you wantto take a seat on the port side, there’s a cooler over there with some drinks inside.” Nickolay adjusted the running rigging on the jib, the sail on the bow of the boat.

He decided not to take Alice out on a regular dinner date again. He wanted to do something fun with her, hoping that it would help her to loosen up a bit. He loved sailing, and it had been a while since he went out on his boat, so this seemed like the perfect choice. She started to move to the starboard side, and he shook his head.

“Good guess, but port is the left side.”

Alice shrugged with a smile. “I had a fifty-fifty shot.”

He watched her move to the port side and take a seat. When she bent over to open the cooler, her white sundress fell down enough to allow him to see her bikini top. Her breasts were barely covered by the red material, and his mouth watered as he imagined pulling at the stings tying the thing at the back of her neck.

He’d love to see her bare out here in the sunlight.

Tying off the jib sheet, he adjusted the mainsail next, making sure that they were at an angle from the wind that would make for slower, smoother sailing. When he was able to go take a seat near Alice, she was pulling her hair into a high ponytail, but the wind still whipped small flyway strands around her face.

She leaned back against the rail, her head tilted up to the sky. She was wearing big round sunglasses, but he didn’t need to see her eyes to know that she was having a good time. It was obvious in her smile and the relaxed lines of her body.

He pulled out another cooler, this one full of food. He grabbed a chicken salad sandwich and handed it to Alice.

“Did you make this?”

“No. I’m good in the kitchen, but I don’t always have a lot of time as a single dad. But there’s a deli near my home that makes great sandwiches and desserts.”

Alice took a bite of the sandwich and let out a satisfied moan. “Well, you’re right about the sandwiches.”

“And I have cupcakes for dessert.”

Alice lifted her sunglasses onto her head and locked her eyes on him. “You’re pretty good at planning dates. I have to wonder if you charm every maid you come across.”

Nickolay winked. “Just the pretty ones.”

He wasn’t going to tell her that he rarely dated. Maybe they would get into their pasts later, if things developed between them. But today, he wanted to keep things light.

He looked out over the lake as he ate his own sandwich. This lake was huge and actually spread over three states. He could see the pier from where they were, which made him think of Max. His son loved the attractions there, especially the ferris wheel that had a great view of the city at the top.

“What are you thinking about right now?” Alice asked.

“My son. Why?”

She shrugged. “You just looked really happy. So, can I ask about his mother?”

“Sure. She was a one-night stand. The condom broke, and she ended up pregnant. She didn’t want the baby, but I talked her into keeping it. When Max was born, she took off with a fat check that I gave her as incentive to sign away her rights.”

“Wow. You know, a lot of men wouldn’t do that. They wouldn’t want to be stuck with a kid they didn’t plan on having, especially if they’d be a single parent.”

“I’m not most men.” Alice’s eyes flickered to his lips, and there was a pleasurable buzz in his bloodstream as the attraction surged between them.

They finished their sandwiches and he pulled out the cupcakes.

“Is that red velvet?” Alice asked, her eyes lighting up.

Nickolay nodded. “My favorite.”

Her eyes rolled back in her head as she swiped her tongue over the cream cheese frosting, and his breath caught in his throat. All he could think about was watching her lick the tip of his cock as he watched her, his cupcake momentarily forgotten in his hand.

He was wearing swim trunks, so there was no hiding his half erection, but Alice was focused on her dessert. That was probably for the best. As much as he wanted to ravage her here on his sailboat, he couldn’t let himself get that distracted for that long. Sailing required too much attention, adjustments needing to be made with every major shift of the wind.
