“Aditya never proposed?” he checked.

“It was all for show,” Jiya said. “Earlier, when you took me away to tell me everything, I was planning this whole thing with everyone.”

“You would have proposed even without hearing my truth?”

She lowered her lashes, and when she lifted them again, her eyes shone with love. “I learned that you’d confided in Rithwik and Raashi. The fact that you’d opened up to them was enough for me.”

His heart was ready to burst. She had so much faith in him. More than he’d ever had in himself.

He pecked her lips. “Have I told you how much I love you?”

“I haven’t heard it enough.”

“Then I promise to tell you and show you every single day for the rest of our lives.”

Jiya took his hand and led him back to the restaurant.

Rithwik and Aisha met them first. They hugged Jiya first and then Rohan.

“Thank you both for everything,” Rohan told them.

“Don’t thank me,” Rithwik said. “Do you remember how you’d plotted with Mom and Dad and ensured they gave me a marriage ultimatum? This was payback, brother.”

Rohan rolled his eyes. “Fucker.”

His twin laughed, putting an arm around his wife. He kissed her forehead before facing Rohan. “Thanks to you, I’m so happy now. However, I was roped in very recently into this plan. I only got to know a short time earlier, when this entire proposal was being planned. I did my part fabulously, don’t you think? I should take up acting. My conversation with you was an award-winning performance.”

Aisha and Jiya laughed. Rohan felt like his chest would split open with all the happiness he was feeling.

Janak and Akash approached them.

“I’m so proud of you, Jiya,” Janak said. “You are brave and strong. You battled hard to win him, and now you have.”

Akash patted Rohan’s back and hugged Jiya. “You both deserve to be happy, and Jiya, I told you something drastic was needed to win him. See, it worked, didn’t it?!”

Rohan still couldn’t fathom how all of them had helped in bringing Jiya and him together. It was astounding, really. For years, he’d stayed away from people and relationships, but now he was beginning to realize the value of close friendships.

Sameer and Raashi came to them.

Raashi hugged him. “My sister is a lioness indeed. She decided she wanted you, and she got you.”

“You raised her well, Raashi,” Rohan said. “And thank you for being on my side as well.”

Jiya’s eyes rounded. “He’s the one who told you about our affair?”

“Of course,” Raashi answered.

“So, you were playing both sides?” Jiya grumbled.

“For your plan to work, Rohan needed to keep believing that you were with Aditya,” Raashi said. “And you needed to be kept in the dark regarding Rohan’s plans. I just did what I had to in order to ensure you both got together.”

Jiya shared a shocked look with Rohan. Her sister had been instrumental in getting them together.

Jiya’s throat clogged. She hugged her sister. “Thank you for always wanting the best for me.”

Raashi beamed.

“Thank you, Raashi,” Rohan said. “I didn’t value you before, but I will henceforth.”
