“Did you offer Jiya a job?”

“Wow, I was expecting this call all of last week.”

Rithwik made a face. “I have a newborn who was colicky for more than a week. Last night was the first time she’s slept well.”

“Is Raisa okay?” Rohan asked, concerned about his niece.

“She’s only a few months old. Babies that age tend to suffer from colic. You would know if you had babies of your own.”

Ugh! Not that again. Rohan ignored the taunt in his twin’s words. He was not ready to get married and have babies, and that was that. There was no point talking about it all the time.

Rohan took the phone and returned to his office. He sat at his desk and rested the phone against a stack of books. He fired up his laptop, saying nothing.

“Stop ignoring me,” Rithwik said.

“What do you want me to say? I refuse to have a conversation with you on my marital status.”

“Never mind that. Why the fuck would you give Jiya a job? Raashi’s so annoyed—”

“—and how is that my problem?”

“You’re doing this to bug Raashi, aren’t you?”

Rohan smirked.

His twin narrowed his eyes. “Fuck. I knew it.”

“I don’t recall you being so annoyed when Akash came to work for me. Why is Jiya working for me a problem?”

“Are you attracted to her?” His brother got straight to the point.

Rohan’s heart thudded, remembering how Jiya had been in his arms just a few minutes ago. Had his brother not called, he would have taken her against his bathroom wall, or he’d have bent her against the sink while he plundered her soft body from behind. His body hardened.

He shook his head, clearing the scandalous images that were storming his brain.

“I asked if you’re attracted to her,” Rithwik repeated.

“Who are you talking about? Raashi…nah…no chance in hell of that ever happening.” Rohan teased, attempting to lighten the conversation. “She’s married, and I have rules. And I don’t want to go into a war with her husband, like ever. It’s enough Sameer has a gun pointed at your back because you asked her to marry you at one time.”

“First, Sameer likes me—”

“—sure, keep telling yourself that.”

Rithwik scowled. “You fucker, you’re deliberately deflecting now. You know I was talking about you being attracted to Jiya. You also seem to have conveniently forgotten that I asked Raashi to marry me before she was with Sameer, and it was the biggest mistake I’ve ever made, thanks to you.”

“Yeah, those were fun times.”

“Sure they were…for you, asshole.”

Rohan chuckled. A few years ago, he’d convinced their parents to give Rithwik a marriage ultimatum to curb his wild, daredevil ways, and the fool that his brother was, he’d gone and asked Raashi, his closest friend, to marry him in order to thwart it. Thankfully, neither of them had been even remotely interested in the other and had found their own partners.

“Rohan,” Rithwik began, his tone serious. “I’m aware Jiya has already joined FF, but I want you to stay away from her. You are not to even breathe in her direction. You get me?”

“That’s going to be a bit hard, considering she is working for me.”

And considering he had more than breathed in her direction.

Rithwik’s face hardened. “Don’t behave dumb. Let me be more specific, brother. You will stay the fuck away from Jiya. She’s off-limits for you. I need you to promise me that you won’t make a move on her.”
