He chuckled, his fingers still stroking her hair. “Of course I do. But I can’t wear jeans to work. My clients and staff will think I’ve lost the plot.”

“Ooh, imagine if you wore a t-shirt to an important client meeting,” she giggled, “Oh! It would be so much fun shocking them.”

“Absolutely not,” he said, aghast. “I believe my clients would never take me seriously after that.”

She laughed. “I doubt it. Why don’t you dare being different?”

He flicked her nose. “You sitting on my lap after spending a night in my bed is already me being different.”

Her eyes brightened. “So, I’m changing you… Hmm… I like it.”

He rolled his eyes. “Only you could come up with the wildest and most random things ever.”

She angled her head to the side. “I have a confession to make.”

He touched his lips to hers. “What?”

“When I was a teenager, I had a crush on Rithwik,” she said.

Had she just…? Did she just confess to crushing on his brother? His brother?! A strange mix of jealousy and confusion swept through him. His chest roiled and he stiffened. He opened his mouth to respond, but Jiya beat him to it.

She wiped the frown from his forehead. “But I took one look at you during Rhea’s wedding and realized I’d been crushing on the wrong brother.”

The storm that had begun to rage inside him abated.

Jiya ran a finger down his jaw. “I liked how you got jealous.”

“Is that why you said it?”

“It was fun seeingyourattled.”

This woman…she was just too much.

He shook his head. “You’re unbelievable.”

She winked at him and kissed his cheek. “Okay, getting back to the topic. What are we doing that involves me getting wet and messy? I’m talking about the thing that is not sex.”

“I like the idea of you thinking about sex again. Can’t resist me, can you?”

She flicked his nose playfully. “Stop teasing me.”

“Why? It’s so much fun.”

She clucked her tongue. “Rohan…”

“Jiya…”

She kissed his cheek, giving him the tingles.

“I like you like this…” she said. “Free and without a care. You’re different here in your house.”

Her observation sobered him up. “This house is my haven. It always has been.”

During those times when living with his birth parents became too much, he used to escape here to the stud farm, where his grandfather lived. His heart always settled when he was here. A few years back, he was able to make this his permanent home once he’d convinced Tara and Varun that he could and wished to live on his own.

Jiya tugged his lower lip to the side. “Smile, Rohan. I just passed a general comment. No need to think about unhappy times now.”

His breath hitched. How did this woman understand him so easily? Jiya put her mouth at his nape and licked it. He smiled, all his worries vanishing.
