Between the ecstasy of the bite and the excitement of his touch, Andy was about to explode. "Faster." He blurted on a rapid breath, and he heard Dallas chuckle softly against his ear, and then his strokes became faster, Andy's flesh sensitized beyond his ability to control, and his body began to tremble. His climax was upon him, and Dallas did not let up. He leaned in closer, holding Andy's gaze, and brought him to an explosive end. Dallas was lighting him on fire.

Andy came, gripping Dallas by the upper arms and holding his breath. It was fantastic and was made ten times better by the look of longing that appeared in Dallas' eyes. Andy took a breath, and Dallas smiled. "You look like heaven when you come," Dallas said with a long breath that ended in another intense kiss.

Dallas did not know if his beloved would come to him; he hoped to see him and that he would answer his call, but he had no idea that their engagement that night would be so extraordinary. Andy was as willing a partner as could be imagined, and Dallas was delighted by his rabid enthusiasm. He was feeling much the same as Dallas. His cougar was on the surface. Dallas could feel the animal. He could feel the acceptance, and it was magnificent.

Andy's kisses were magic, as were his frantic touches and the trembling desire that fed their connection, and Dallas could not get enough. His desire to feel the vampire's bite was completely unexpected, but the moment he submitted, Dallas could not deny or turn away. He had to have his beloved to taste and begin their bond. Andy was open and agreed, and Dallas was not going to take that offer for granted.

His body called to Dallas, and again, he would not deny Andy or himself the beauty of bringing him to a fabulous finish. Andy did not hesitate or pull away but rather pressed for more. He reveled in the sensations, and his reactions were pure gorgeous. Dallas didn't stop until Andy was completely spent. He then pulled out his handkerchief and cleaned his beloved before tucking him back into his pants.

Dallas licked his fingers clean while maintaining Andy's steady gaze. The act was having the desired effect as Andy's heart began to beat faster, and his breath was reduced to short, shallow pants. "You're killing me." Andy groaned.

"Only in the best way possible," Dallas answered and gave Andy's now softened cock another squeeze.

"The best way possible," Andy repeated, and Dallas laughed.

"I thought you didn't want me," Andy confessed his fear and dropped his head against Dallas' shoulder. That statement shocked him, and Dallas felt pain pierce his heart at the thought his beloved thought he'd been rejected.

"The bar was not the place to announce. The scene was chaotic, and the audience was questionable. I never denied you, and I hope that you do not deny me." Dallas tightened his arms around Andy, but the young man did not look up at him. He kept his head against his shoulder and continued taking deep breaths to center himself. "I came here to the border and called to you, and you came. We are one, you and I. We are Fated." Dallas was trying to be clear without being preachy about it.

Andy was a shifter. He knew all about Fated pairings and didn't need Dallas to give him the details. It is written and cannot be disparaged. Vampires looked at Fated bonds as sacred, and nothing was allowed to interfere with a Fated couple coming together.

"I'm a cougar from the forest, and you are an important vampire from Coven DuCane. We are worlds apart." Andy still wasn't looking at him, and his words were being spoken into Dallas' jacket, where his head still lay. Dallas loved the contact and the closeness but did not care for the fact that Andy was obviously feeling a disconnect between them.

"You are no different than anyone else. You are mine, and I will claim you. If anyone has a problem with that, they can get fucked." Dallas lifted Andy's face up to his, and he placed a gentle kiss on his lips. "My feelings for you continue to grow every minute we are together. I will not let you go; wherever you go, my love, I will follow. I don't care that you are a cougar. You could be human or a rat shifter, for all I care. You are my Fated beloved, and we are meant to be."

He didn't want Andy using the species difference as a wedge or seeing it as a problem. This was between the two of them, and no one else mattered. He needed to get Andy to see it in those terms.

"I'm not denying you, Dallas, but we must look at the reality of the situation we are in. I live in the forest with a pack of which my brother is the leader. You live in a coven, an important, powerful coven, and you are part of the leadership; you have responsibilities. No one is going to just accept this union, neither my people nor yours." Andy was speaking the truth, but Dallas didn't care what his people or Andy's people had to say on the subject. The only opinions that mattered were his and Andy's.

"I don't care, and I'm not looking for acceptance from anyone but you."

"You answer to Silas Patronne; he is your superior," Andy stated, looked up at him, and held his gaze.

“Yes.”

“I’ve heard him talk about cougars. I know his opinion of our species. How will you explain to him that your mate is a cougar shifter? How will it affect your life at the Coven if you mate with a cougar?” Dallas did not like the direction this discussion was taking.

He paused before answering, taking his time to make sure he made himself clear and that his beloved understood the importance he held in this vampire's life and in his heart. Dallas placed his hand on the side of Andy's face, cupping his cheek and maintaining his gaze. He held those green eyes that were suddenly filled with sorrow and trepidation, and his heart melted.

"Don't be sad, sweetheart. Nothing will take you from me; I will not allow it." He kissed him again, tasting the beauty and the love so prominent. Andy was so much more than a cougar, so much more than just a man he was a pure and precious gift. "I want you to come with me now. You belong with me, and I don't give a damn what anyone thinks, and neither should you. We are equals, and Fate has brought us together. Please don't let your fear keep us apart."

"I want this, I do, but I need time." He beseeched. "I can't just tell my brother that I'm mating a vampire. He'd go ballistic; I need to explain it to him in a way that he understands and can appreciate that it is Fate's design. I want to handle this without the craziness that could erupt." Dallas continued to dislike the direction of this conversation. Andy was not coming home with him. His beloved was going back to cougar lands, and that did not sit well with him, especially if Billy decided to go ballistic.

"I respect your desire to speak with your brother, but he is not a factor in what happens between you and me, and I want you to remember that. I'll give you until tomorrow afternoon, and if you are not here, on this spot by 2:00 pm, I'm coming to get you, and I will not be stopped." Dallas would give him time, but there was a limit to what a man could endure. Tomorrow, he was bringing Andy home. "Your place is with me."

Andy nodded and laid his head back on Dallas' shoulder. Dallas held him close but in a loose grip. The night air was fresh and clean, but the knowledge that this was going to end, at least for tonight, caused a tightening in Dallas's stomach. He didn't want to let him go and didn't want to be separated from his newly discovered beloved. "I don't want to let you go," Dallas stated and then crushed Andy to his chest, feeling desperate and anxious.

"I'm not blind," Dallas added. "I know there is animosity between the species, and I never thought about it until now when it affects me directly. I never considered the damaging effects of the attitudes that have taken over since the cougars were seen as collaborators with the magics. The damage and the suffering the magics unleashed touched and harmed so many.” Dallas explained, in an attempt to account for his attitude and the attitude of other paranormals.

“I know that the cougars suffered as well.” He continued. “But it was easier to blame and move on than it was to try and understand. I’m sorry your people became the fall guys for the trouble of that time.”

"We lost a lot of people to the magics and their experiments, and in response to that, we became closed off and suspicious of everyone and everything. We cut ourselves off from others and saw enemies everywhere." He looked up at Dallas, and Dallas lost himself in those eyes once again. Damn, he loved those eyes and that lovely face.

"I'll tell Billy, but I can't just blurt it out. I have to handle it right for him to understand and not make a mess of things. Billy and his friends can be quite unpleasant; he will understand if I explain it to him. He knows the power of Fate and will not dare oppose what Fate has put together." Dallas feared that Andy was doing more wishful thinking than actual problem-solving.

Billy was a brute, and it was unlikely that he would understand anything, especially something that existed on an emotional level, but Andy wanted time, and he could not tell him no. "Is Billy your only relative?"

"Yes, our parents died many years ago. Do you have any family?" He asked, and his tone was considerably lighter. It was nice to move to a subject that was not so laden with difficulty.
