She knew she was grasping for more time. Lacey bit her lip as she watched Hafiz twist his fingers around hers. She wanted to grab his hands and hold them tight.

She was in danger of never letting him go.

Lacey glanced at the window again. They had not squeezed out every minute of their night together. How long had they spent gazing in each other’s eyes, holding each other, not saying a word? But she wouldn’t regret those quiet moments. They meant something to her. It made her feel connected to Hafiz.

Lacey swept the tip of her tongue along her bottom lip before she spoke. “It’s morning.”

Her voice shattered the peaceful silence. She felt the tension in Hafiz’s muscles before his fingers gripped hers.

“No, it’s not,” Hafiz replied in his deep, rumbling voice as his warm breath wafted against her ear.

She frowned and motioned at the window. “It’s sunrise.”

“I disagree.” Hafiz gently turned her so she lay on her back. “The sun is still rising. It isn’t morning yet. We still have time.”

He wasn’t ready to end this, either. Lacey gazed lovingly at his face above hers. She brushed her fingertips along his jaw, the dark stubble rough against her skin.

“I love you, Hafiz.”

A dark and bittersweet emotion she couldn’t define flashed in his eyes. Hafiz slowly lowered his head and bestowed a gentle kiss on her lips.

She didn’t move as he placed another soft kiss on her cheek and yet another on her brow. It was more than saying goodbye. He touched her with reverence.

She closed her eyes, desperate to hide her tears, as Hafiz cupped her face with care. He tipped her head back against the pillows and kissed her again. His mouth barely grazed hers.

Lacey wanted to capture his lips and deepen the kiss. But Hafiz slid his mouth to her chin before leaving a trail of kisses along her throat.

She swallowed hard as Hafiz darted his tongue at the dip of her collarbone before pressing his mouth against the pulse point at the base of her throat. She gasped as he suckled her skin between his sharp teeth and left his mark on her.

He didn’t need to brand her. She was already his, and nothing—not time, not distance—would change that.

“Hafiz...” she said in a moan as she reached for him. He stopped her and wrapped his hands around her wrists before lowering her arms on the mattress.

“Shh,” he whispered as he settled between her legs. He continued his path and kissed the slope of her breast. Lacey arched her spine as he teased her with his mouth.

Hafiz knew how to touch her, how to draw out the pleasure until it became torment. She hissed between her teeth as he laved his tongue against her tight nipple before drawing it into his hot mouth.

She fought against his hold, wanting to grab the back of his head, needing to hold him against her chest, but Hafiz didn’t let go.

As sweat formed on her skin while she trembled with need, Hafiz silently continued his descent down her abdomen. Lust, hot and thick, flooded her pelvis. She rocked her hips insistently as Hafiz licked and nibbled and kissed her.

His path was slow, lazy and thorough. She glanced at the window. The sunlight was getting brighter and stronger.

Hafiz bent his head and pressed his mouth on her sex. Lacey moaned as she bucked against his tongue. He released her wrists to spread her legs wider. Lacey grabbed his head, bunching his short hair in her fists as he pleasured her.

She tried to hold back, wanting to make this last, but her climax was swift and sharp. She cried out as it consumed her. Her hips bucked wildly as she rode the sensations.

Her stomach clenched with anticipation as Hafiz slid his hands under her hips. His touch was urgent. She opened her eyes to see him tower over her. There was a primitive look in his eyes as he knelt between her legs.

She felt the rounded tip of his erection pressing against her. Hafiz entered her fully, and she groaned with deep satisfaction. She watched as he closed his eyes and tipped his head back as he struggled for the last of his control.

Lacey’s flesh gripped him hard as she felt her body climbing fast toward another climax. She bucked against Hafiz, and he braced his arms next to her. He recaptured her hands and curled his fingers around hers.

“Hafiz...” she whimpered as he rested his forehead against hers. She went silent as he met her gaze. She allowed him to watch her every emotion and response flicker in her eyes. She hid nothing as she climaxed again, harder and longer.
