Kissingwas what I had come up with.

A lot of kissing, instead of thanking.

But I was nervous to say that, especially after everything we’d done on the countertop. It seemed like a lot of steps forward at once. And while I didn’t regret what we’d done at all, and really liked the way it had relaxed things between us, I was still hesitant to commit any more than I already had.

“Why does everyone else call you Rok?” I changed the subject so I wouldn’t have to bring up the kissing thing.

He lifted a shoulder. “It was my nickname as a kid, and it stuck.”

“If everyone calls you that, why didn’t you introduce yourself to me that way?”

“Because you’re not everyone else.” His hands continued moving on my back. His words and his touch warmed me. “You can call me whatever you want, but to me, names are important. You’re my mate. You deserve my full name.”

“Is that why you call me Aurora? No one’s ever called me that before, by the way.”

“It is.”

He thought using our whole names was special.

That was… kind of sweet.

“Alright, Amarok it is.”

His lips brushed my shoulder, where his claim mark lingered. “I should clean you.”

“I think I can handle cleaning myself,” I teased him.

“Let me rephrase that: I’m excited to feel your soft skin beneath my hands as I clean you, Aurora.”

My lips curved upward. “Guess I can’t protest that.”

“I hope not.” He kissed the claim mark again. “Let me grab the soap.”

My eyes closed as his slick hands moved over my back a moment later, sliding up to my shoulders before he eased me away from his chest. His gaze was hot as it moved slowly down to my breasts, and his chest rumbled with satisfaction.

His hands moved slowly down my arms and back up before they slid over my collarbone and caught my breasts.

“Veil, I could touch you forever.” His gaze smoldered as he dragged his thumbs over my nipples.

My eyes closed. “I wouldn’t complain.”

He kneaded them for a few long, blissful minutes before his hands slid down and slowly moved over my folds, lingering on my clit long enough to make me warm.

“I’m never going to be able to leave your den at this rate,” I whispered. His soapy hands found my legs and slowly stroked down the length of one of them.

“Then I’m succeeding, I’d say.”

I tried to bite my lip to hide my smile, but failed. “I have to agree.”

Amarok nipped at my throat. “After I’ve cleaned you, I’ll let you go if you want me to.”

I wouldn’t want him to… but I’d force myself to go anyway. I could never let myself end up in another mess like the last one I’d been in.

I needed time to establish myself in Evare and make sure I had what I needed, regardless of how good Amarok could make me feel.

He could be the best man in two worlds, and I would still need to find myself before I could let him truly make me his.
