I wanted to sit up, but my teeth were lengthening in my mouth, growing sharper.

When his voice repeated in my mind as he drove into me,“I love you,”I sent the words right back.“I love you too.”
For the first time I could remember, I hoped nothing would ever change.
I hadn’t needed a black-market identity after all; I’d just needed a fresh start in an entirely different world.
And the universe had delivered that, and so much more.
