He laughed. “Understatement. I cut off Livi’s credit and ended our relationship over email. Which is really shitty, but, goddamn, she left dirty dishes in the shower, Zel. Theshower, for fuck’s sake!”

“Eww. That’s so gross.”

“Right?”

He’d left his girlfriend? My stomach fluttered. “I’m sorry you had to split up with her.”

“Nah, don’t be. It was time to move on. You know she was a head case and jealous as fuck. Wanted to control who I saw and when but didn’t give me the same say in her relationships. The only thing she liked about me was my bank account and the cushy lifestyle it afforded her. No ambition, that one. I didn’t realize how much it was pissing me off until spending time with you. You’ve got your shit together, babe. That makes you so fucking sexy. You have no idea.”

“Well, I’m still sorry you had to go through all that. I just want you to be happy, Playboy.”

“I know. That’s what’s so amazing about you. You’ve got such a generous heart. And, fuuuck, that bikini pic! I almost dropped the phone in the shitter again when I saw it. Had to jerk off in a coffeehouse bathroom while looking at you.”

I couldn’t help but laugh and blush. “You didn’t.”

“Hell, yes, I did. I’m coming back to Seattle next month. You better be wearing that when I ring your doorbell.”

My heart jumped. He was coming back. “Really? I get to see you that soon?”

“Only if you promise to wear the fatkini and fuck the living daylights out of me.”

“I’ll fuck you raw.”

“I love it when you talk dirty. You’re the best girlfriend I’ve ever had.”

I bit my lip. “I’m your girlfriend?”

“Hell yes, you are.” He paused. “Aren’t you? Say, yes, Zel.”

“Definitely yes. I’ve been going nuts without you here.”

“What? You’ve got Aithan.”

“Yeah. And I want you, too. I’m a greedy girlfriend, Drew. Get used to it. Greedy and demanding.”

“Yes, ma’am. You know I like women who know what they want—”

“And aren’t afraid to demand it?”

“Bingo.”

We chatted until the oven timer went off.

“You’re cooking?”

“Baking. Carob chip tiger nut cookies are coming out. Brownies go in next. Donuts and apple bars are on the docket, too. Then I have dinners to make.”

“Oh, right. I forgot you batch cook. And now I’m fucking hungry.”

I laughed. “Go. It’s past dinner time there.”

“Yeah, I’ve got leftover pizza.”

“Mmm, I do miss pepperoni pizza.”

“Sorry, babe.”

“That’s okay. I can splurge when you’re in town.”
