“And now they’re scandalized.”

Drew crossed the threshold. “Only if they stay too long.” He clapped Aithan on the back. “Which ain’t gonna happen ’cause the loveseat was the last piece. The crew’s got a few more boxes to unpack in the kitchen, then they’re outta here.”

“None too soon.” Aithan nodded toward the open front door. Snow was falling.

The foreman came inside. Drew joined him in a walk-through of the house to confirm all was in order and no walls or belongings got damaged. By the time they finished, the kitchen crew was leaving with the last of the empty boxes. Drew settled the bill and his tip left the foreman with a wide smile.

“Merry Christmas,” the man said.

The trucks started and rumbled out of the horseshoe driveway as fat snowflakes drifted from the sky and neighboring homes turned on their holiday lights.

While Drew and Aithan made sure all the doors and windows were closed, I went upstairs to free Frank and Lulu from the bathroom. “Time to explore. It’s a lot bigger than your last home, so stick together.” They tentatively went into the third-floor hallway, tails and cheeks puffed up. Lulu made little chuffing sounds.

Aithan appeared in the bedroom doorway, an amused smile on his lips. “Why’s she making that noise?”

“She always does that when she’s nervous or excited. I think, in this case, she’s both.”

Drew grinned as he came up the stairs to the landing. “Excited kitties?”

“Nervous-cited,” Aithan replied.

Rubbing his hands together, Drew nodded. “I can relate.”

“Why nervous?” I asked.

“It’s a big investment. And I want my family to be happy here. Aith was just getting settled into the townhouse and that was your home, babe. Now I’ve taken both of you away from it. I feel responsible for you guys, I guess.” He shoved his hands in his jeans pockets and gave us an exaggerated grin. It was too freakin’ adorable. “I’ve never committed to anyone else like this before.” He peered at us from beneath his brows. “It’s kinda scary, but also exciting.”

I squealed as Aithan suddenly picked me up and over his shoulder.

“You know what you need to calm your nerves?” he asked.

Feigning ignorance, Drew said, “No. What?”

“You need to help me shag this woman silly in that giant new bed.” Aithan strode across the room and dumped me on my back in the middle of the ginormous mattress. The down comforter billowed around me and I laughed as Aithan climbed onto the bed and straddled me. “Whaddya think, old man? Should we tie her up? Make her beg?”

With a shit-eating grin plastered across his face, Drew sauntered into the room and pulled his shirt off. He leaned over me from the side of the bed, his expression tender as he murmured, “All that and more.” His lips met mine in a slow, deep kiss.

“Leisurely pace?” Aithan asked.

“Very leisurely.”

Drew dropped tiny butterfly kisses on my lips and down my chin. I arched my neck and he continued down to my collar bones. Aithan lifted my sweater and traced the curve of my waist, the hills and valleys of my ribs.

I sighed and ran my fingers through Drew’s hair.

He wore belts made from military-grade nylon webbing with buckles as thin as quarters. He paused in kissing me, and the rip of nylon across denim thrilled me as he straightened and said, “Our girl needs a safety word.”

My breath caught and I arched against Aithan’s caresses. But he paused, too.

“Good thinking. How about ‘Juno’?”

Drew grinned. “Oh, I like that.” He held my gaze. “Brick, if you feel at all uncomfortable or want us to stop, just say, ‘Juno,’ okay?”

Blood pounded in my ears. I licked my lips. “Juno. Got it.” My voice was breathy. Fucking hell, I was the nervous-cited one now.

Aithan caught my waist and shifted me closer to the metal pipe-and-post headboard.

The sound of nylon against denim grabbed my attention again as Aithan pulled off his belt. It was one of Drew’s.
