Another groan crawls up my throat but I take a large sip of water to chase it away.
“What?” I ask Tally, a little defensively.
“You like him.”
“No, I really don’t. I can barely tolerate him.”
“Been there, got the t-shirt and the boyfriend who says otherwise.”

Abi sniggers at that, and we both glance at her.

“I was just thinking, imagine if Raine had been here when you launched your hate campaign against the Heirs.”
“We would have made a formidable duo.” Tally concurs, shooting me a sly look. Just then, the bell chimes and Liv appears.
“Sorry, I’m late.”
“Everything okay?” Tally asks her.
“Yeah, Reese wouldn’t let me… do you know what, forget it.” Her cheeks burn earning her a chorus of laughter.
“Didn’t expect to see you here,” she says to me, and I shrug.
“We were just grilling her on Theo, but she remains tight-lipped.”
“Because there’s nothing to tell.”
“Word of warning?” Liv says. “Those boys can be relentless.”
