I just hoped he would forgive my tardiness because the worst case would be a failing grade.

A grade that was currently an A.

I finished my plea and hit Send.

I was just going through my emails when a reply came in.

Subject: Out of office Re: Tomorrow’s Paper Deadline

Hello!

I will be out of the office until next Wednesday. I won’t be checking email during my absence, so don’t expect a response until Thursday at the earliest. If this is an emergency, please reach out to the department secretary. Her information is below. If this is regarding an assignment, all exams and papers are due on their deadline. No exceptions unless it’s a medical emergency. Anything turned in after the deadline will result in a failing grade.

And I was left with the most satisfying ache between my legs.

Who was he?

I didn’t care.

I couldn’t care.

I thanked her and said to my best friend, “I don’t know how you drink that fruity, frozen shit.” I glanced toward the ocean, where some of the guys were attempting to surf. “It’s too much sweetness and not nearly enough booze.”

Since we had been at the club so late last night, Jenner wanted to do a beach day today. Food. Drinks. Relaxation. And the ones who didn’t mind getting blown across the waves, face-first, were on boards in the water, not a single one of them lasting through a whole crest before they wiped out.
