This incredible, sexy, intelligent woman is mine. And right now, she’s so full of me, it’s dripping out of her.

My fingers twitch with my need to reach out and push it back inside her.

Deep down, I know it can’t achieve anything. I know her dark secrets, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting to keep her full of it.

“Or,” she taunts, reminding me that she was saying something. “Get on your knees and have your next meal right here.”

If it weren’t for her stomach choosing that exact moment to growl angrily again, I might have just thrown caution to the wind and done it.

“After you’ve had food, I’ll spend all night on my knees if you wish.”

“I thought I was getting punished,” she quips.

A smirk spreads across my face as I stare down at her, my dick swelling as this conversation continues. Who knew I still had this kind of recovery time?

“I never said you’d get to come.”

Her face twists in displeasure before a smirk twitches at her lips and her eyes blaze with… is that pride?

“Oh Doll, we’re going to have so much fun,” I tease before turning my back on her and walking away.

“What? Mav, wait. Come back,” she calls, but it’s too late.

I have the world’s quickest shower. I hate every second of washing her scent off me, but I have every confidence that I can rectify the situation very soon.

She still hasn’t appeared when I stalk back into the room naked and drag a clean pair of boxers from the pile of clothes on the dresser. A pair of my own boxers. What a novelty.

It was a long time ago that I first packed an emergency bag for both of us.

Five years ago, to be exact.

I knew that at some point, someone was going to find out what I’d done, and we’d have to run.

The only other person I trusted, other than Alana, was Sheila. So she’s had this bag that I’ve added to over the years, along with a burner she was never allowed to turn off or allow to die. She knew as well as I did that one day I’d call telling her that it was time. Turns out, that day was yesterday. And thank fuck she pulled through.

Thoughts of what might be happening at home threaten to dampen my mood, so I push them away.

It’s not our issue anymore.

Alana played her part. She opened up about what happened to both her and her sister. Would it be nice to be there when Victor, my father and hers get taken down? Absolutely. It would be fucking incredible. But it’s not necessary. The most important thing now is her, our future, and keeping my promise.

I duck out of the room and head to the kitchen to discover what we might have to eat.

There’s enough food here to last a couple of days, and then we’re going to need to make a decision about what comes next.

We could take off into the sunset and never look back like we always planned. I can contact Sheila; she can get into our house and grab anything we might need, and we can disappear.

The thought of leaving her and Daisy tugs at my heart. But Sheila has made her decision to remain in Harrow Creek with her granddaughter very clear over the years, and I have to respect her wishes.

Or we wait it out, wait for some kind of signal that everything has settled and return home.

Staying in Harrow Creek was never part of the plan.

But something tells me that things have changed.

Mostly, the look in Alana’s eyes when I dragged her away from that house yesterday. Away from him.

Julian Dempsey.
