“Now?” I blurt, my head still spinning from what we just did.
What he watched.

Standing behind me, JD tugs his tank over my head, covering me up.
I move toward where Reid’s standing with his back to the door and look up into his dark eyes.
The air crackles as we stare at each other.
“You’re going to need to move out of the way, Big Man,” I sass, my heart in my throat as fear for what’s to come grips me in a tight hold.
“Everything is going to be okay, Pet” he assures me, reaching out to cup my cheek gently.
I nod, unable to say anything else.
Thankfully, he moves to the side and allows me to escape the room.
I run to Mav’s room, feeling like the walls are closing in on me.
I’m not sure I’ve ever experienced something so euphoric change to something so terrifying in a heartbeat.
The second I’m in the bathroom, I drop to my knees in front of the toilet and heave up my pancakes.
“Oh my God,” I whisper once I’m confident I’m done and fall back on my ass.
“Shit,” Mav hisses, his eyes wide as he takes me in. “Are you okay?”
Wiping my mouth with the back of my hand, I rest my head against the wall and suck in a deep, calming breath.

Dropping onto his haunches before me, he takes my hands in his.
“It’s going to be okay, Doll. That future you always dreamed of. It starts tomorrow.”
Tears burn the back of my eyes as I think about his words, and all the things we talked about.
