“The bare minimum. I know what you’re thinking, but this is solid. Take down his men. Take down the devil.”

“And your plants, they’re going to help?” Mav asks.

“Waiting for our arrival at sunset.”

“Oh my God,” I breathe, barely able to believe what I’m hearing.

“Cash is pulling together our army. Dev,” Reid says looking at his eldest brother before glancing at Ezra and Ellis on either side of him. “I need you guys at the clubhouse preparing.”

“You got it, Bro,” Devin agrees.

“Ellis will sort your comms out. Your job is to clear the perimeter unnoticed. You will not step foot inside that building until you get orders from me. And if you find that cunt before us, you disarm him. You do not kill him.”

“Understood,” Devin says. “It’ll be a challenge, but we’ll do it… for you.”

Reid’s eyes narrow, but he refrains from saying anything.

“Griff will be with you, he has a team flying in from Seattle within the hour.”

“How long have you known about this?” I ask.

Suddenly the door flies open.

“Long enough to get my ass here,” a familiar voice says.

“Aubrey,” I gasp, jumping to my feet and rushing over to hug her.

It isn’t until I’ve got my arms around her that I realize how tense she is. And it’s only made worse when she gently pats my back.

“Shit. Sorry. Things are just a bit…” My words trail off as my cheeks burn.

“No problem,” she says, smoothing down the front of her black jeans. “I’m looking forward to committing this motherfucker to hell too. Just… maybe notthatexcited,” Aubs mutters under her breath.

Silence falls over the room as every set of eyes watch the two of us curiously.

“Sorry, did I interrupt something?” Aubrey sasses, reminding me of why I like her so much.

Spinning around, I look at Reid.

“What about Daisy?” I ask. While we’re all focused on finally putting our painful pasts to bed, we can’t forget about our future. “Someone needs to stay with her.”

“I will,” Ezra offers before Mav says the same.

I look between the two of them.

“N-no, I can’t ask either of you to do that. You need to be there tonight. Reid needs both of you.”

“You need to be there too,” Mav explains.

Any other time, I’d have agreed. I’d have fought to be there.

“I can stay,” Aubrey says, letting me know that she’s aware of the Daisy situation. I’m not surprised, I think her and Reid are closer than they’ve ever let on.

“No. Absolutely not. All of you… every single one of you are far more skilled for what is going to go down over there tonight.”

“Oh no, don’t do that. We all saw you shoot Kurt’s knee out with insane accuracy,” JD argues.

“No, we didn’t,” Devin complains.
