Pedal to the metal, I am heading back to Richmond Valley from Nori Beach to set the record straight. The only reason Emerson isn’t on this trip with me is because she said she couldn’t afford to take a week off work now that she has a second job for the summer. She’s been busting her ass to make extra money so she and Lucian can get their own place.?
Since he graduated with me last week, he has already been kicked out of the Robbins’s house and is living on Frankie’s couch for the time being. With Lucian gone, Emerson seems more eager to officially get out of there as well. I know she is thankful for the roof over her head, but they were never the family she deserved. I told her she could just move in with us, so she didn’t have to be with those money-hungry pieces of shit, but being the stubborn ass she is, she said no thanks.?
Emerson’s still been staying with me almost every night, just having to show her face a few times a week at their house… for what reason, I don’t know. It’s pretty obvious they don’t give a shit.?
I love having her in my bed for more than one reason. But that’s why her reaction and distance toward me this week is confusing as fuck.?
We have basically been inseparable between training, sleeping, fucking, hanging out… We are always together. So why the sudden cold shoulder??
Maybe this was her opportunity to let me go and create some space between us.?

I bustinto Colton’s room, and my eyes are met with a bare back and long raven hair.?
“Fuck,” I grumble, closing the door quickly. “My bad.”?

“She’s in your room… Has been every night since you left.”?
His words hit me like a punch to the gut. Why can’t she just admit she has real feelings for me too? Feelings that far surpass friendship.?
“You know, when we were younger, I kinda always thought you two would end up together. Back then I just wasn’t sure how I felt about that.” His admission surprises me, and I stay quiet, wanting to hear how he feels about it now. “But honestly, now… I know there is no one better, for either one of you.”
