“Come on, Jack,” Ransom urged with a seductive grin. “We’re happy to share her with you, as long as you don’t keep her all to yourself. She might act a certain way in public, but behind closed doors, she’s an insatiable little slut. She’d indulge you in your darkest, filthiest fantasies, and beg for more.”

My eyes narrowed. “Watch your tongue, incubus, or I’ll cut it from your mouth!”

“He’ll just grow a new one,” Hatter howled with a drunken laugh. “He’s right about Alice, though. She’ll let you doanythingto her. Tie her up, stuff a gag in her mouth, fuck her in the ass, fuck all of us at once...”

“Enough!” I snapped, my patience at its end. “She’s my apprentice! I am her mentor! Regardless of her age, I willnevercross that line!”

“But you’ve thought about it,” Chess taunted. “Admit it.”

“What is there to admit?” I asked. “Honestly, I don’t know what you see in her.”

Lies.

I knewexactlywhat they saw.

Full, soft breasts that defied gravity.

A thick, supple ass and thighs that begged for me to spread them apart and take as much of her as I wanted.

A tiny waist that made me want to wrap my hands around it and crush her body against mine.

A greedy little mouth that could swallow my cock and, from the sounds of it, beg for more.

Her body was a temple dedicated to carnal sin, every inch of her skin begging to be worshipped. But her behavior grated on my nerves. She was arrogant and selfish, only caring about her own desires without consideration for others.

Callister regarded me with a gaze that saw too much.

“I know why you won’t fuck her,” he declared, his voice low and cautious. Suddenly he had everyone’s attention, including mine. He took a long drag from his hookah, blowing smoke rings shaped like hearts before looking at me. “You’re worried that if you give in to temptation, you’ll lose control of your vampire nature and drink her dry.”

Callister’s words cut deep into my mind and stung whatever I had left of a soul. Every syllable of his declaration echoed like a dark prophecy. Although Callister and I occasionally had our differences, I suddenly hated him for revealing my greatest fear so effortlessly, and for all to hear.

My eyes burned with anger, yet I couldn’t escape the truth of his words, no matter how hard I might try to deny it.

Would I fuck this woman if she wasn’t my apprentice?

Absolutely.

But as long as I was her mentor, she was off limits.

She’d been summoned by my queen. Things were already dire in Wonderland. The last thing we needed was an Alice who had no desire to help us because she was sobbing her eyes out and nursing a broken heart. If this woman thought any of my friends were going to follow her home and live together happily ever after, she had another thing coming.

She was a plaything to them. Nothing more.

And I wasn’t going to be part of that equation when she realized the truth.

“I have to give a report to Her Majesty,” I said, rising to my feet. I didn’t respond to Callister’s accusation. There was no point. His mind was already made up whether I denied it or not. Instead, I finished the last of my wine and gave a courteous nod to Ransom. “Thank you for including me in your celebration. Wonderland is lucky to have you back at full strength.”

Ransom, Hatter, and Chess all smiled and bid me goodnight.

Callister said nothing.

I didn’t need to read his mind to know what he was thinking.

He was right.

My next lesson with Alice would only rekindle the fire of temptation. The thought both thrilled and terrified me, a dangerous game that I wasn’t certain I could win.

“May the gods grant me strength,” I whispered as I left the Great Hall, steeling myself for the challenges ahead. There was no arguing with the fact that this Alice was truly different from all the others. She was a test unlike any other, a battle of wills that would push me to my very limits...
