Seb settled into the seat beside me, his own beer in hand. “Xander has a thing for anything with a vagina. But there is something about Sel that makes him hold on.”

Hold on? To fucking what?

I rolled my eyes. “He wants to sleep with her.”

“Oh, they’ve done that plenty.”

I could not rationally explain the monsoon of fury that washed over me. It hit me like a two-ton truck right in the gut.

“I mean, again.” My voice was the exact opposite of the internal feelings I was experiencing.

Seb tilted his head to the side and looked at me. “Why are you so curious? Is there something you want to tell me?”

I cleared my throat and broke our eye contact. The last thing I needed was my best friend in the middle of my confusing feelings toward this woman. I was yet to make sense of all of it and I doubted that I would even be able to make it make sense to him.

“What are we talking about?” Nathaniel came toward the pit with his own beer in hand. The man looked like he had put on more muscle since the last I saw him. Arthur followed closely behind him and plopped himself down on the seat next to Seb.

“My best friend wants to kill your best friend for Selena’s affection.” Of course, Seb had to open his mouth. I swear, after he married my sister, he had become more and more like her. He lived to torment me the way that she did.

Nate looked between me and Seb and smiled. “My money is on Xander for the win.”

“What?”

“You know, me too.” Seb piped up.

“I third that motion,” Arthur added. Now, why was Arthur piping up? The man barely knew me.

“Firstly, why the fuck do you think I wouldn’t be able to win? And second, I do not want Selena!”

That was a bold-faced lie. At least partially.

“Really, though?” Arthur looked over the frame of his glasses at me. “The last I checked; you were making fuck-me eyes at her in the parking lot.”

“I was not making fuck me eyes in the—shut up,” I grumbled and turned away from the three of them. “She is my employee, and I am her boss. There was nothing more to that.”

“And you also happen to want to rip her clothes off, and that’s okay.” Arthur took a swig of his beer. “No shame in having eyes. I mean, come on, Selena Abrams is a ten out of ten. She’s fucking hot. I would love to get my hands on—aaand I’m shutting up now.”

The death glare I was giving this guy would have had him six feet deep within seconds. I didn’t appreciate the way that he was fantasizing about her. I didn’t even want him thinking about her body clothed, let alone in the nude, which was likely what he was thinking.

Arthur was as much a man whore as Xander was, if not worse; the only difference was that Arthur held it together better than his counterpart.

“Oh, you have it bad. Jealous?” Nathaniel threw his head back and took a swig of his beer. “This reminds me of Lia and I.”

“Excuse me?” Both husbands gave each other knowing smiles before turning their attention back to me.

Jealous. I was not jealous. The entire thought was laughable, really. I was not the jealous kind. I was Daniel Fucking Sinclair. I could get anything I wanted. I had no need to be jealous.

So then, why was this big ugly green monster rearing its ugly head my way?

“Selena and I are not seeing each other. We have never held hands, let alone kissed or fucked, and that line between her and I will never be crossed.”

I didn’t know if I was telling them, or I was trying to convince myself. I knew that there was some form of feeling toward Selena. But I couldn’t do anything. She was my sister's best friend and my employee.

“I said the same thing about your sister and look where we are now. Two kids and one on the way.”

I froze. “Wait, is Claire…?”

He nodded with a proud smile on his face. “We found out two weeks ago.”
