Edric was having a field day at my expense, but payback is a bitch, and I’m sure one day he will find someone who makes his head spin and will make him want to open up his heart. I am so in love with my girl; our wedding day can’t come soon enough. Ellen had flown over to the island to do a follow-up check and put my mind at ease to convince me that Sabina was well enough to resume her life how she wanted to. The baby is doing well and listening to me by not being so hard on my girl. She’s only been sick a couple of times, which was a great sign, according to Ellen.

The decision to remain on the island was made by me and not protested by Sabina. She felt at home here and wanted to raise our child here. She said she no longer needed to be anywhere else after everything she had gone through. Of course, she would join me if I were required in the city or wherever my business needed me to be. Our life was about as perfect as we could hope for.

“Okay, Lucy and Sabina are currently getting pampered by Anna. She’s giving the girls manicures.”

“Great! Thank you for checking on them.”

“No problem; they looked so happy that they didn’t see me.”

“Yeah, that tends to happen when they are together. The cargo plane just touched down, and they will be here shortly with the piano. It will be placed in the great room, and the musician I’ve hired has learned the music and will be playing the piece as Sabina walks down the aisle tomorrow.”

“You’ve thought of everything.”

“It’s Sabina and the effect she has on me. I can’t wait to marry her tomorrow. Now, back to business. How’s everything in London?”

“Great, Kaz is a machine, and we’ve added seven new clients to our roster. Hans has overhauled the teams with new members who I think will make a great addition to Atwater Security. And I can’t begin to express how much Pierre has stepped up. No one will ever be able to breach the island again.”

“Thank God for that.”

I sighed, and then Edric picked up on my change in mood. “Hey, don’t go back there, not when you are about to marry the love of your life. She’s your dream, and all the hell you two endured is the nightmare that is no more.”

“You’re right; I still can’t believe my luck finding Sabina again.”

“Don’t question it, not ever.”

“I promise, not ever again. Alright, sorry about veering off track. Let’s get our work finished so I can return to Sabina. I agree that adding Pierre to our team was a smart move. He’s a good man and has been a great friend to Sabina. I will forever be in his debt for putting his and Lucy’s safety aside to help her, and now he’s helped me as well. I’m beyond impressed with his knowledge and skillset, as long as we benefit from his services. I take it the contract he signed with us is ironclad and a no-compete?”

“Obviously, along with numerous clauses that Kaz made sure to include. He’s not going anywhere, and life improved for him and Lucy when we presented the opportunity to him.”

“Good, it’s what I want to hear. Being good to Sabina’s friends will put her at ease since Lucy and Pierre mean a great deal to her. Do you know when they are leaving the island?”

“The morning after the wedding. I plan to give Pierre a few days to settle back into their lives, and then it’s back to work as usual.”

“Sounds perfect,” I said, and then I needed to address another matter. “Edric, I don’t know when I will return to London, if ever. I know I’ve put the entire business on your shoulders, but it’s time for me to step back from that life and concentrate on this new one with Sabina.”

“Brother, you are not telling me anything I didn’t already know, and once the shock of you in love, marrying, and becoming a father wore off, Kaz is very happy for you, too.”

“She was shocked? Am I really that bad?”

“No, she just never believed hell would freeze over, and now she’s put on her ice skates and can’t wait to be Auntie Kaz.”

“Now you’re being an asshole; shut up and tell me the truth. Are you okay with the changes made regarding our business? Because I never asked and just assumed you would be.”

“It’s all good, and I promised a long time ago that I would do anything for you. This is no different. You are finally getting everything you’ve always wanted. Now is the time to enjoy it and be happy with your new family.”

“You will always be part of it, and you know that.”

“I do, and here’s another curveball for you.”

“Oh, yeah? What’s up?”

“I met someone, and she’s going to be my date for the wedding.”

“Wow, hell, really did freeze over. How is she even getting here?”

“She hitched a ride with the piano and just texted me. Let’s go, and you can say hello.” We went outside to meet the team, assembling and placing the piano where I wanted it. While they were busy, I looked forward to meeting Edric’s date. I oversaw the set-up when he returned, walking in with someone I knew—Sabina’s doctor from Italy.

“Ellen?”
