By the time she wakes up, Aurora is in the backyard with Mark, Sean, the kids, and our parents.

Before Bianca can see any of that, I say, “We have a little surprise for you. Some friends and family are over.”

“Why?” She rubs her eyes and looks toward the backyard, but I’ve closed the blinds.

“You’ll find out soon enough.”

She runs her fingers through her hair. “I’m a mess. Do I have time to clean up?”

“Trust me. You’re perfect.” My eyes drop to her tummy, and I’m busted.

Her hands fly to her pajama top. “Is it dirty? I should change.”

That was close. “You don’t need to change a thing. It’s just a few people who love you dearly as you are.”

She accepts my hand, letting me guide her to the back door.

“What the heck?” she exclaims when she sees everyone.

My brothers and I are too excited to delay the reveal.

I spin her around, sit her on top of the cooler, and kneel in front of her.

“What are you doing?”

“Something that we should have done a long time ago. Bianca, I kept wanting to make this right and perfect and I kept letting you talk me out of it while you said you needed to get your life in order. But look at everything you’ve created.”

I motion around us, and we have everyone’s attention at this point.

“You’ve made these beautiful babies. You’ve brought our family closer than ever, and you’ve provided the most welcoming home for my brothers and our children.

I don’t have to worry about my mom taking offense. We’ve talked to her about how much we value everything she did for us.

“Bianca Sinclair, will you do me the honor of fulfilling the most important contract, the most important investment, the most important alliance of my entire life, and marry me?”

Sean steps next to me and kneels. He drags his hands up and down her bare leg. “I hope you’ll do me the honor of allowing me to be a part of this crazy endeavor and marry me too because I can’t imagine a life without you.”

Mark kneels on the other side but bumps me a little so he can get slightly more to the center.

“Bianca, no one’s ever challenged me the way you have. No one’s ever made me lose control and like it. No one’s ever made me so happy to settle down. You make me feel completely insane. But I can assure you, it’s of sound mind that I too want to marry you. And I hope you’ll take all three of us as a package deal because, well, let’s face it, visitation rights are going to get complicated if you don’t.”

“Oh my gosh. Yes to all of you!”

Tears well in her eyes, and her hands cover her mouth while we embrace her.

Mom steps up beside us, cutting into the moment. “I don’t mean to pry, but do any of you have a ring?”

“We planned this in a hurry, but we’ll get rings, Mom.”

“A hurry?” Bianca’s brow furrows.

“It’s the other surprise that’s the ticking clock,” Carl explains.

“Another surprise?”

“You’re pregnant.”

And we live happily ever after!
