“What is JoJo from?”

She laughed, put her hands on his head, pushed him under the water, and swam toward the steps.

Brett came up and went after her. He grabbed her ankle, pulled her back to him, wrapped his arms around her waist, and placed his chin on her shoulder.

“I enjoy spending time with you, JoJo.”

“I feel the same way.” She turned to face him. “I’d better get going.”

“Do you want to shower before you leave?”

“I’ll shower when I get home.”

“All right.”

He watched her smile, then turn and dive under the water. He stayed in the water and grinned as he saw her walk up the steps. He dove under the water when she bent over to pick up a towel. It was better than watching her. He knew he wouldn’t sleep well tonight.

When he swam to the steps, he stood, climbed them, walked to the lounge chair, and picked up a towel. JoJo wasn’t there. He supposed she headed inside to dress.

He carried the towels inside, entered the bathroom, and hung them over the shower doors. He shoved his wet trunks off, placed them over one towel, then entered the bedroom to dress.

He always went commando when he wore sweats, and he wouldn’t stop now. After pulling a pair of sweatpants out of a drawer, he grabbed a T-shirt and tossed it onto the bed. As he was about to tug the sweatpants on, he stopped when he heard her clear her throat.Shit.

Glancing over his shoulder, he saw her leaning against the doorjamb. She had changed out of her swimsuit into her jeans and T-shirt. He stared at her and watched a slow smile lift her lips. It didn’t seem fair. Then she turned and left the doorway.

Brett took a deep breath and hung his head. He never had a problem controlling himself, but damn if JoJo didn’t make him feel like he wanted to toss the sweatpants down and take her to bed. If he turned around to face her, he knew it was just a matter of time before his dick betrayed him.

Shaking his head, he dressed and headed for the living room. When he didn’t find her, he strode to the kitchen to see her at the bar.

JoJo grinned, and he narrowed his eyes.

“Did you enjoy the show?”

She laughed. “What can I say?”

“I didn’t know you were a peeping tom.”

“I didn’t want to interrupt.”

“Right.” He leaned against the bar. “Are you leaving?”

She hopped off the stool. “Yeah. I need to open tomorrow at five. Mondays are the only days we all go in earlier.”

“Okay. Well, let me walk you out.”

“No need. Stay in where it’s cool.”

“All right.” He reached for her hand. “When can I see you again?”

“Saturday? We can go to the diner.”

“Sounds good. Then maybe Dewey’s. I like that place.”

JoJo’s eyes met his, and she stood on her toes and kissed his lips.

“I’ll see you around six-thirty?”

“Yes, ma’am. If not before. It’s hard to stay out of the bakery.”
