Lilycleared her throat, her body on high alert. “Yousaid that already.”
“DidI?It’sallIcan come up with.Yourbeauty shuts down all my normal functions.”Thepad of his thumb brushed her lips.Hiseyes were completely focused on them.
“Isee.”
“I’mleft with only auxiliary status.”
Shecould barely get her voice to work. “Whichfunctions remain?” she whispered, tasting a bit of chocolate on his finger.
“Oneor two.Thevery, very important ones.”
Lilyfelt the heat migrate from her toes to her belly to her face.
Ina flash,Wyatt’shands were on her waist, drawing her close. “Wantto see one in action?”

Wyattleaned down, and slow as molasses, he kissed her.
Hislips were firm and wanting, telling her so much.
Lilykissed him back, sending a message of her own.
Wyattpulled back, creating a tiny gap between them,Lily'seyes at half-mast.Shefelt light-headed, intoxicated.

Hereyes popped open at the sound, both of them looking down at the same moment, their heads banging against one another.
“Ow,”Lilysaid, rubbing her forehead.

Wyattcrouched down to pick up the fallen object.Onlyone knee was on the ground. “Lily.”
Lily’sface scrunched up in confusion.Thenrows of goosebumps lined her arms. “Hmm?” she managed, barely getting out the sound.
Wyatt’seyes held hers. “Mylove for you is as vast as the star-filled sky aboveCrystalPeak.Asdeep as the mightyBlueRiverand as solid as . . . moose antlers.”
Lilylaughed, a tear streaming down her cheek. “Ilove you, too.Yourfamily.Andthis town.”
Wyattchoked up. “Willyou do me the honor of being my bride?”
Heunfurled his fingers, revealing a solitaire diamond ring.
