She’s mine.

That’s what I want to run down there and scream.

Casey tries to pull away from his touch, but he only seems to grip her harder and I watch her face scrunch in response. There’s about five more hours until the casino closes, four before I end up sending Casey home, but maybe I should shut down early. The thought of getting the guy alone, showing him exactly what happens to people who touch what’s mine, has my fingers twitching on the arm of my chair.

I reach over and press the button, letting Fran know I need her, then wait for her to come inside. She’s quiet as she walks in and comes to a stop in front of my desk. “You can come around the desk, I have a job for you to do.” I’ll call the front desk and let the security know what’s happening once Fran leaves the room. Fran rounds the desk quickly, her eyes falling onto my computer screen as I point at the man. “Do you see that man?”

“Yes,” she says softly.

“I need you to go downstairs and tell everyone that the casino is closing for the remainder of the night because of a leak – except that man.”

Her eyebrows scrunch in confusion. “Why me? I could call security to handle it.”

“Because everyone will respond better to someone who isn’t in a security uniform and I need this to be done as quietly as possible.” Considering how heavily the guy is watching Casey, I don’t think he’ll notice anyone leaving anyway. “Do you understand?”

She nods and clears her throat. “Get everyone out of the building except for that man.”

“Oh, and tell Casey to come up to my office after everyone leaves. Hannah can go home as well. Once everyone is out make sure to lock the doors.”

“Uh, yeah, okay. Right away.”

As soon as she shuts the door behind her, I reach over and grab the receiver to phone the security desk. The line rings a few times before Denny picks up. “What’s up, boss?”

“Fran is coming downstairs right now, she’s sending guests out and claiming there’s a leak in the building. There’s a guy that she’s not saying anything to, this situation is discreet, so try to be as quiet as possible about it. Lock the doors when he’s the only one left.”

He huffs. “Do I even want to know what this is about?”

I sigh. “Probably not. Just make sure it gets done exactly as I said, everyone but the guy – Fran knows who, so don’t worry about that. When she tells you everyone is out, lock the doors and give me a call back.”

“Whatever you say, boss.” The line clicks and I put the receiver back down before leaning back in my chair, staring out at the view ahead until they are ready for me to get down there.

I steal another glance at the computer, watching the guy as he follows the sway of Casey’s hips. I then watch as Fran quietly gets the other guests to leave their seats. Just as I thought, his gaze doesn’t move away from Casey as the people surrounding him lift slowly get up from their seats and head toward the entrance.

My blood runs hotter than it ever has before when he places his hand on his crotch, adjusting himself as if the simple sight of Casey turns him on, and I clench my hands into a fist at my side. I’m going to enjoy this entirely more than I should, but I’m too far gone to change my mind. He’ll understand his mistake soon enough.

Fran walks up to the last few guests, then disappears over to the bar where she talks calmly to Casey and that’s when I crack my knuckles, lifting from my chair in preparation for the call. Five minutes pass when a soft knock sounds on my door.

“Come in,” I say with a bit of edge to my voice. Casey walks through the door and eyes me curiously while I point to the sofa sitting against one of the walls. “Take a seat. This shouldn’t take too long.”

“Uh, what’s going on?” She asks, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear nervously. “Why did Fran send me up here?”

I walk up to her and brush my knuckles across her cheek, enjoying the way she shivers from my touch. “Don’t worry about that, just relax for a bit and I’ll be back up.” As soon as the phone rings, I quickly stride over to it and ask, “Is it done?”

“All good down here, the guy doesn’t even know what’s happening. I’m sure he’ll figure out something’s up soon enough though. You might want to get down here quick,” Denny says.

“Coming down now. Keep him occupied.” Casey narrows her eyes at me, but I don’t have time to stand here and tell her what I’m about to do. She’ll figure it out eventually.

It’s eerily quiet when I step off the elevator, the other security officers standing by the front doors to guard them, and I give them a curt nod before turning onto the casino floor. The guy briefly glances up, his eyes finding mine, then turns his attention back to the machine he’s playing before snapping his gaze around the space.

“Where the hell did everyone go?” He grumbles.

I come to a stop next to him and smirk. “That would be because of me.” My eyes don’t leave his as I grab hold of the chair next to him, pulling it over, and sit down. “You see, there’s something you’ve been touching that’s mine, and I don’t appreciate that.”

His eyes bulge, and he shakes his head frantically. “Woah, man, I’ve just been sitting here. Not trying to cause trouble.”

“So, you didn’t put your hands on one of my employees?”

He scoffs, the alcohol wafting through the space between us, and I scrunch my nose. “That’s what this is about? Listen, if you want her, she’s yours.”
