No, if she told him he’d more than likely punch me in the face.

“What are you doing here?”

He sighs and runs a hand through his hair. “I’m worried about Casey, Emmett.”

Just the mention of her name has me feeling things I shouldn’t in front of Dominic and I clear my throat, moving across the floor to place my things next to the desk. “What’s going on?”

“I need to ask a big favor of you.”

I’m not liking where this is going, but I guess he deserves for me to hear him out after what I did last night. “What is it?”

“Can you give her a job here? I just need her to have something that will take her mind off everything.”

The thought of her ex has my blood boiling, and I clench my fists at my sides. I never thought I’d want to ruin somebody’s life as much as I want to ruin that guy’s for the way he hurt her. Luckily for him, I was the one driving Casey away from the wedding that day, or else it would’ve gone a lot differently than what Dominic recounted to me.

Instead of rushing away with Casey, I would’ve taken my ass back into that place and showed him what happens when you hurt my best friend’s little sister. I’m willing to bet that he’s one of those guys who only cares about himself, if Casey’s reaction to me last night was any indication.

He probably never made sure she got off before —

“Are you listening to me?”

I shake my head and sigh. “Sorry, Dom, it’s been a rough morning.”

He scoffs. “You got in here two minutes ago, dude.”

“Whatever,” I mutter. “I don’t know if I have anything available for her. What experience does she have?”

Dominic groans. “I don’t know, man. I just know she came home after being out at the club most of the night, wouldn’t tell me what happened, and I don’t want it to be that way the entire time she’s here.”

I scrub a hand over my face, trying my hardest not to look him in the eye because I know I’ll see that pleading look he gives me sometimes that makes me cave every time. It would be stupid to hire her, having to see her every day after knowing what her pussy feels like, but that’s not something I can exactly be open about.

“It’s a lot to ask, I know, but you’d really be doing me a favor. I’ll owe you one.”

“Let me see what I can figure out. Have her come to my office for an interview later today.” It’s a mistake, but I can’t bear to make him upset if I say no.

Dominic smiles brightly and nods. “Sure thing. Thanks, man.” He gives me a small wave before walking out of the office, leaving me alone with all the emotions swirling inside of me.

I’m angry at myself for letting down my guard around her, while a thrill shoots through me at the secret we’re keeping. There’s this need to have her against me again, feel her full lips mold to mine, and make her come apart. My phone rings on the desk and I rush around to answer, not really in the mood to deal with whatever is going on right now but knowing I have to. Being the owner of one of the biggest casinos isn’t all it’s cracked up to be when you aren’t in the mood for the role.

“What is it?” I mumble.

“Uh, yes, Emmett?” My assistant’s voice comes through the other line.

“What is it, Franny?”

“I’ve got a call from the casino floor, there’s a ruckus going on down there that they can’t get a handle on. They asked that I get in touch with you to deal with it.”

“Okay, I’ll head down there. Any meetings today that I need to worry about?”

She clicks her tongue and says, “There’s one about the property you’re wanting to build another casino on.”

“What time is that?”

“Three o’clock.”

I sigh in relief, at least I can find the time to relax and calm down before going into a meeting with a bunch of real estate agents and contractors. “Thanks, Franny.” As soon as I hang the phone up, I fix the collar of my suit before walking out of the office and heading toward the elevator.

There’s screaming going on at the casino entrance and I roll my eyes. “Fellas,” I say with a smile. “What seems to be the problem?”
