“No. Lasagna will be fine. It will just be me, Luvenia. Mrs. Judge isn’t feeling well tonight. She’ll be otherwise occupied.”

CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

“What now?” asked Harlow, staring at the room full of people.

“Now, we wait. He’s going to try and gather information to counter what you presented, but it will be difficult since you told the whole world you got it from his own home. It was clever of you to present the envelopes as well. They solidified that he was taking the information from the Justice Department,” said Nate. “I’m proud of you, baby.”

“Thank you,” she said, smiling at him. “I didn’t want him to know my married name, Nate. I know I should have told you, but I just didn’t want to use it. Not yet.”

“Don’t apologize,” he said, kissing her. “We thought of it as well while you were in there. Dad was the one that remembered, but it was too late to tell you not to talk about it.”

“They’ll find out soon enough, I suppose,” she said, nodding.

“You did good, Harlow,” smiled Nathan. Trak gave her a subtle wink as the others stood to leave.

“Wait, before you leave,” said Code. “After we figured out that Harlow’s mother was a Tennison, I decided to dig a little deeper.”

“Why? I mean, Tennison went belly-up, right?” she asked.

“Yes. And no. Your father and mother re-opened Tennison Dynamics under Tennison Dynacorp. Currently, they are producing small-grade weaponry for police departments. But.”

“But they were hoping for larger contracts and expansions,” said Harlow.

“I’m sorry, Harlow,” said Nate.

“Don’t be. It only gives us more fuel.”

“Harlow, you need to step carefully here. You’re listed as the COO of Tennison Dynacorp.”

“What? I’m no such thing!”

“Your signature is everywhere,” said Code, pulling up documents and contracts.

“That’s not my signature. We can prove that, right?”

“Yes. We can definitely prove that, but it could be difficult if they forged it.”

“Look at it,” she said, staring at the screen. “That is a signature by someone right-handed. I’m left-handed. It is completely opposite of how I would sign a document.” Code looked at the screen, grinning. Nodding at her, he gave a thumbs-up.

“Way to go, lefty,” he smiled.

“Thank you,” she nodded with a grin. “But if I’m COO of Tennison Dynacorp, I can do whatever I like with the company. Right?”

“Well, technically, yes,” said Nate. “What are you thinking?”

“I’m thinking we really make my father and whoever is helping him squirm. We’re going to make sure that he never screws with anyone again.”

“I think we need to take whatever you can from Tennison,” said Spencer. “I’ll sign all the documents with Harlow’s signature. It will look like she’s stealing from the company. I can put a sizeable amount into a bank account under her name, then try to make it all look like industrial espionage.” The man across from him nodded as he went to work behind the scenes.

“No,” he whispered. “No.”

“What now?”

“Everything is gone. Everything is… She didn’t do this. How could she know to do this? This isn’t possible.”

“For fuck’s sake! What did she do?”

“Sh-she sold it. She sold Tennison to G.R.I.P. All of it. Everything is gone.”
